Jarry needs to be healthy. He's as good as they come when he's healthy.

As far as how good team is, they really can't get much lower than where they were at season's end. Not even that they lost to two of the weakest teams in the league. They were .500 in the last ten against teams out of the playoffs, for the most part.

If he's healthy we have a top goalie for sure.

No team playing meaningful games would want him. They'll be hoping Sully keeps him in the lineup when they play the Pens.

The team should be better, and at the very least is going to be more fun.

But the reality is that the Pens are going into this season with zero semblance of an actual NHL third line, and Jarry in net. Seems like two big Achilles heels to me.

There's also an aging roster with a lot of injury history. Feel we try to forget Crosby and Malkin were healthy all year for the first time and we still missed.

That's why Ruhwedel will make the starting lineup. 4th most pk time among Pens D over the last 3 years.

Someone like him at least, much as I'd like to see Ty Smith and POJ both play. Pysyk if healthy could be an upgrade.

Yeah, I mean, does the top 6 have to be totally set in stone already? hahah...when Jake gets back can Rust, Rak or Rielly trickle down to the 3rd if one of the new additions can keep up and hold their own in the top 6? will anything different even be tried?

hahaha this is funny but true....I think the problem here is that whoever the 3rd pair RD is will have to be a competent PKer with the other two slots being Tanger and EK....EK isnt going to be killing penalties. POJ is a left...Smith played LD pretty damn good last season even though he's a righty...

If all the D is healthy one of POJ or Smith wont be playing on opening night.

I would personally put Accari as the 3c and Eller the 4c if we're trying to make a third scoring line and a 4th defensive line. I would try this in preseason:
Poulin-Accari-Nylander
Doc-Eller-Nieto.
If Poulin can play C then I'm trying him there as well.

When you see the potential bottom 6 wrote out like that.....I dont know, man...I dont know....not instilling a load of confidence in this guy hahaha....and there's no sign of Crater there in that....he'll probably be there....

hahaha as a team the Pens have been decent at this the past few seasons...but had a really bad PK for periods of time last season. So, even though they weren't penalized a whole lot (relative to other teams) they still got in trouble when they were.
