2004: Lukas Kaspar 22nd overall – who dat?
2005: Devin Setoguchi 8th overall – look who they passed over.

2006: Ty Wishart 16th overall
2007: Logam Couture 9th overall – decent pick
Ten-year history? I’d rate it a meh… it just isn’t that impressive to me. But, I’ll admit beauty is in the eye of the beholder. For what one person finds admirable may not appeal to another. - sufi-judge
I mean you can say that about any team. He still landed good players haha. Shero drafted Derick (frank)ing Pouliot over Filip Forsberg and we needed wingers lol. |

The only thing dumber than passing on him was the Caps trading him straight up for Erat. |

So back to our ongoing discussion about cable vs cord cutting: with Spectrum pulling Disney channels (ESPN) from their package, I think the Heat death of cable is officially on and everything will transition to direct to consumer in the near future |

What does this have to do with the price of tea in China? It had absolutely nothing to do with what I said. You don't have a clue what's happening outside your own country and it shows. I have somewhat similar feelings about how my country spends money abroad as well, to a degree anyway, but again, that has very little to do with global inflation, which was the topic. - MattStrat

100%. Regional sports was one of the main things holding cable together. If you can stream that legally in market, no reason not to go a la carte. |

I’m more prepared for a letdown since they have playoff expectations this season. |

Ohio State looks like a top 15 team which translate into bad by their standards. I think Michigan is going to stroll to the B1G championship this year. I guess we'll know a bit more this week when ND plays a competent team with a mobile QB and a lot more in two weeks when Ohio State comes to South Bend.
For me, I just hate you guys so goddamn much that I live for that game. I think it sucks we don't play anymore so as much as I wish death and destruction on Ann Arbor, I am rooting for both of us to make the playoffs so we can play, even though I wouldn't handle the marginal possibility of a Michigan championship very well. |

There is a chance far greater than 0 that you’ll never see your team win the cup. So gtfo of here. |

Yeah between that idiotic idea to stop playing the ND/UM game and backing out of the UCLA deal, the Michigan non conference schedule gets poop on every year. The PSU and OSU games are the big ones this season but I hope they fully unleash JJ so there aren't any unnecessary tough games against MSU, Maryland, etc.
Also I keep waiting for my alma mater USF to not suck again. |

ND takes ownership for this. Swarbirck was the one that ended the series. I think it was a mistake. I don't like the concept of dumbing down the schedule for a better shot at the playoffs.
(frank) the playoffs. Ruined college football. Bring back the BCS. |

I'm hoping the 12 team playoff fixes some of that. The 2 and 3 loss teams hoping for the final few playoff spots are going to have their resumes heavily scrutinized, unless of course they are in the SEC, then they are just in. |

So logically yes. But in practice we'll see if that's how it plays out. So much in college football these days defies logic. This just isn't the sport I fell in love in with anymore. I won't pretend that I'm not obsessed with it any more, I am, but I miss what it used to be. There was value in the weird, stupid, and chaotic set up prior to the playoff era being so different from major professional sports. Now its just the NFL but with schools. |

Yeah at least before there was excitement just to make a BCS bowl. Now if you don't make the playoffs it just doesn't matter. I think teams should be banned from playing FCS schools. Would be a decent start. |

Agreed. The FCS scheduling is bullpoop. I'm very angry at our athletic department for scheduling our first ever FCS game this year. |

Yeah not sure why any program can be taken seriously when they schedule a home game against Derek Zoolander Center For Kids Who Can't Read Good and Who Wanna Learn to Do Other Stuff Good Too. |

Yeah the subway alum contingent of the ND fan base is like “well everyone else is doing it, this is what we need to do to win!” Sick guys, why don’t we join the Big 10 while we’re at it since being Notre Dame apparently doesn’t matter anymore.
EDIR: used some jargon there. Subway alums are what we call what you call “Walmart Wolverines” |

I cut the cord in 2019 and have never once considered going back to cable. Being an out-of-market fan made cable obsolete a long time ago. I agree that once in-market streaming opens up, there's really no reason for anybody to have cable. |

I have never understood why people are interested in watching minor-league pro sports teams named after universities. |
