According to Russ Cohen, the coach is an old school coach and there is only 1 roster spot available with multiple players, including Michkov, fighting for it. He is making Michkov earn the spot, not just giving it to him.

If the Rotenberg family decides they don’t want to let Michkov go to the NHL do the Flyers get some kind of compensation for the lost pick?

He's not a coach at all per se, let alone an old school coach. He's a russian oligarch pretending to be a coach. He has no hockey background whatsoever.

1. There is no agreement, legal or friendly between the NHL and KHL right now
2. There is no body that has authority to enforce any rules of contract
3. Russian thugs tied to Putin own and drive the team that Michkov is signed to
