There's nothing wrong with the substance of what he writes, just the fact that he uses 30 words when 5 would suffice. It reminds me of being assigned essays in high school that needed to be X amount of words and trying to fluff up the paragraphs with extra words - eichiefs9
Thats exactly it, every post is perfectly formatted to MLA stardards. Theres foot notes, an intro, body and conclusion. Makes me wonder if hes an English teacher, a writer, publisher or editor. |

There's a word for that: "prolix"
But the dictionary definition goes on at length.

Hockey News wants Sharks to sign Lafreniere to offer sheet
https://thehockeynews.com...r-sheet-alexis-lafreniere - jimbro83
The league would see more offer sheets if the cap was structured like the NBA. But the NHL hates fun and hates most positive publicity, so that just doesn't happen. No reason why teams like Anaheim or San Jose should be sitting on dormant money. |

what I like about the NHL is cap is being able to trade part of the cap hit, or retain the cap hit
ultimately the biggest problem is that there is no reasonable explanation that the cap hasn't gone up more than it has the last couple of years when they know full well that Arizona situation is keeping revenue down

Ther needs to be a "franchise" tag or something where your draft picks are rated at 75% cap hit. |

Like everything in this world, the power dynamic heavily favors the owners/employers. Any potential influence that employees, or players in this case, may exert, pales in comparison to what the owners get. In the case of what fox got to do, how many other examples are there? To even bring it up is just distracting from the actual stuff and is exactly what the billionaire owners would use to say “look over here”

I look at the DeBrincat situation this year. He made it very clear that he will sign and play for who he wants.
The fact that it doesnt happen often doesnt mean that its not an option.
Look at Michkov. Does he still drop if there wasnt a fear of him saying that he doesnt want to play for who picks him? This is obviously hypothetical but its a very real situation. He can tell Philly no thanks, not sign his ELC and become draft eligible again in 2 years. |

Again, seems like they’re exerting the tiniest bit of influence they’re afforded in those cases, as they should. The league has actual problems tho |

I think the league made some grave assumptions that have hurt them very badly. Particularly last year. Was on a wine trip in Tuscany and someone from the groups father works for the Canucks and he said that the league VERY strongly felt that this year theyd be able to pay off the money in ESCROW. They were very wrong. I think the league was banking on raking in the profits from a McDavid v Matthews final. |

So what do we think the lines will be?
Laf - Mika - Kakko
Panarin - Chytil - Wheeler
Kreider - Trocheck - Goodrow
Vesey - Bonino - Pitlick
or
Kreider - Mika - Kakko
Panarin - Chytil - Laf
Goodrow - Trocheck - Wheeler
Vesey - Bonino - Pitlick
or something else? Hoping he doesn't galaxy brain it |

I doubt Chytil is on the second line. Just hard to see him starting a guy at center who cant win faceoffs on a line where possession is so important. If Chytil plays center with Panarin, then it would be situational when the Rangers already have possession and hes not pressed to win a faceoff. |

Filter by center and look at the FO% for some of the top point producers in the league. Mackinnon, Hughes, Thompson, Petterson, Stuetzel, eichel, zegras. It happens |

I like the Kreider-Trocheck-Goodrow line a lot. They would be a pain to play against and hopefully dominate possession and put up decent numbers. Creates a lot of question marks on that second line though, see them being boom or bust depending on chemistry. Starting Laf and Kakko with Mika feels like the right thing to do. |

I saw one of those analytics charts (i know) showing Chytil had a ton of chances due to the creativity of his linemates last season, so i figure bread and wheeler would really pump those numbers up. At the very least Panarin if Wheeler doesn't go on his line too. |

Not with Goodrow on the ice. |
