I like it, but I guess they had better ones. But I like their old stuff much more in general (nostalgia might be a part of it).
Honnênement quand j'étais au secondaire pis j'ai entendu la toune, je ne savais pas trop de ce qui ça parlait. Fallait déjà comprendre les paroles... - deadpoulet
have you heard them lately? oh man. it's not for me. and i have (had) all their CDs up until raditude.
holy hell do i not like much from any of their albums after that. what could have happened?! - kicksave856
well I wasn't impressed with that "Beverly Hills" bullpoop, not sure if it was supposed to be ironic but it turned out to be the most overplayed crap on the radio...

yeah that was actually a pretty annoying earworm.
man i used to love them!
the insurance company gave me $4000 for all my CDs and records. i had a lot.
I really liked Pinkerton back in the days. It says on Wikipedia that it received mixed reactions at the time? Maybe the blue album was too popular.
after that, I dont think I know much of their ablums.
I look it up, they made 15? tabarnak...
maybe the green album was a let down for me after pinkerton? I know they made some songs that I like after. King is a really good song, but I dont really know that album.

4K...? tabarnak...
are you planning on buying most of it back? any rare collectibles/vinyls in there? - Pat1993
i managed to get most of my collectible concert posters and the real rare autographed stuff or colored vinyl records or whatever out because they were in my closet and happened to survive the water because they were in one of those little plastic sets of drawers on wheels, you know what i mean? like you buy at walmart.
but all of my CDs, records, DVDs, and VHS stuff got ruined by the water. when they saw how much i was claiming they called and were like "um, where were these CDs? that's a lot of money and we don't see them in the pictures." so i told them where they were (right on a shelf in the living room) and then they found them in the pictures.
i actually went low on the $4000 so they wouldn't question it. it was probably closer to $5000 worth of stuff. i had rare box sets and out of print stuff and all. i had a vinyl pressing of a black keys 45 from when they were nobody and on my friend's tiny record label in california.
i doubt i'll buy it back. i have most of the songs saved digitally but i never wanted to lose my physical stuff. there are a lot of memories from decades of playing those cds with friends who are gone and stuff. you know. sentimental stuff. and also the artwork and all that.

the kids weren't into pinkerton because it was slower and more like emotional stuff that rivers wrote. but it was an awesome album and they all realized it later and now claim they loved it from day one.

damn, that sucks. I know it's something that younger generations probably don't understand because it's basically fully digital now but I find having the actual physical copy with the album art is way better.
at least you got back the autographed/more rare stuff as you mentioned... pretty lucky for that through all that bad luck.
also, you had a friend who owned a record label in California? that's pretty cool...

(frank) those kids, really
probably the same ones who ignored Insomniac from Green day just because he wanted to kill himself and the lyrics were kind of dark in general

not sure why but that's actually the first Green Day album I bought, the vibe was much different from Dookie but there's some good tracks on there.

my buddy joe moved out there and started a label. he's the guy that got me into half of the music i like. all that indie stuff that was out there that i didn't even know about.
he also had the singer from this apparently one-and-done band we both liked called motocaster. the singer was a really talented songwriter but his solo career eventually, somehow turned kind of country-ish so i was out on that. but here's the awesome song that got me hooked on motocaster:
it was so weird. we both loved this album that nobody even knew about (we couldn't even find me a copy of the CD for like a year and a half before joe showed up at my door with one in his hands that he found in some second hand store.) anyway, next thing we knew the singer of this band was getting off a plane, giving joe a hug, and putting some solo stuff out on his label.

I miss having the liner notes, extra stuff on the back sleeve or insert. Some really great art or other cool creative things there.

right? some of the best, weirdest artwork you'll ever see is in old cd liner notes or those old 2-album deals where you opened the sleeve like a book.
and who hasn't spent hours of their youth reading the words to the songs on new CDs as soon as they got them home and popped them in to listen to? - kicksave856

noice. I really like that hard rock/bluesy sound they had going on. and to this day it still seems to be "underground" music, only 2.7k views after 10 years. too bad he went country lol... funny how some really talented bands never made it big, while there's some putrid and dull poop that constantly plays on the radio.

Also, when iTunes started, lot of the albums came with a PDF you could open of the album liner notes and stuff... but I guess digital and the proliferation of the internet for everything, including lyrics and album details, killed that off.
Maybe some musicians still do those on the download sites, but I have not purchaed one in a while, just spotify that stuff now.

now itunes can't even find the cover artwork for half of the albums.
