Pens are still in win now mode, Karmanos has not shown any ability to acquire NHL talent. He is great at building a prospect pipeline, which the pens will need in 3 years after Crosby is done. IMO poaching him doesn’t match their needs.

He's the ultimate high risk/reward play. He's got exactly as large a sample size of being a top 4 d-man as he does being a pylon.

If the Sabres had any kind of depth on the blue line I would take this gamble.

Okposo is a joke at this point, watching the Leafs vs Panthers and seeing Tavares be so irrelevant because of how slow he is. Okposo is even slower and less talented. Neither have accomplished anything even though they are viewed as leaders of their respective teams.

Yes, he fills a void in the roster immediately. If you view it as you get 3/4 good years and the final seasons are put on LTIR to circumvent the cap for playoffs its a win/win.

I would consider Parayko if his cap was no more than 4.25 for the remainder of the contract.

All comes down to how many games he plays IMO. If he plays 65+ games, agreed, too many minutes that could've went elsewhere. If he's used as a player coach type, where he's only in half or less games and helping the kids grow...so be it. Part of this equation would be putting the best foot forward come playoffs. I don't want to see him in the first round if he isn't our BEST option. Until then, they can f about a little.

Yes we’re all in awe of Eric Staal’s impact during these playoffs….he is a filler, he actually can help off this ice as he won a Stanley cup and knows what it takes.

Okposo can tell you how living in Buffalo during the winter can break a person.

Interesting to see Zach Benson and Oliver Moore as fallers on here. I could definitely see those two names falling on draft day (and wrongfully so)

I think Šalé has pretty much solidified himself as a late teens/20s pick at this point
