Mitts seems like a perfect example, he finally has positive trade value and IF he doesn't regress, will likely cost substantially higher contract wise. He becomes a primary target to replace with a high- end NHL-ready player like Kulich.
Same with a younger player as a trade target, Krebs before he needs a new contract.

Sabres will likely need to use a top prospect and pick to secure that Top4 D though.

Sure. Don't think there's a clear front runner between Mitts, JJ, Savoie, and Kulich to play in the top 6. Quinn is less than a 100% lock too. If everyone stays around, there's competition for those roles.

It's very difficult to find a defenseman worth an A prospect. Teams don't trade them. Seth Jones was your closest bet and he expected a ludicrous contract.

I'd use them to trade for a true high impact forward already established at the NHL level.

One that already has hit a level as high as the prospects may ever hit, if not higher.
