they have 17 million in cap space to fill out their 4th line, get rid of olofsson and a goalie and swap out a defenseman. I wouldn't be too worried about cap space.

and it wasn't a rush to sign him. okposo told adams he would sign when he was ready, and getting it done now as opposed to july 1st helps you organize.

further more it was buffalo or retirement.

I don't really get all the outrage in bringing Okposo back.

He's the captain of the team and a defensively responsible 4th line player at this point in his career.

How many teams let their captain walk in this situation if he's still got some gas in the tank? Zero.

The price is a little higher than what I was hoping for, but the move is a no-brainer by Adams.

There's also the question of how much ice time he gets, as coaches, Granato included, almost always lean on veteran players, even if they are past to well past their primes.

Can Donnie resist playing Okposo more than Cozens, Quinn, Peterka etc?

No he doesn't. Look around the NHL. Players are not loyal to any team unless there's a huge bag of cash at their feet. No loyalty on either side anymore. He was a bust right from the start and now I hear he deserves something. He deserves a bus ticket out of town and he can take KA with him.

Why are you soo certain krebs is a keeper?

He is an undersized project player on a team that has that in spades.

He has yet to find his stride and has been relegated to playing with role players.

He can cover a ton of ice but what good is all the speed when you often give the puck away.

I guess my point is to ask if we can maybe put krebs in the not sure pile instead of the keeper pile?

Krebs needs to play with talented players. He was relegated to the 4th line due to purely numbers game. A 4C was the only center spot left.

You aren’t playing Krebs over tage cozens or mitts.

So often Krebs would send a great pass to Okposo or girgensons and they would flub or completely blow it

Krebs is a good playmaker and is still young. He just turned 22.

Hopefully like all of our kids …. Like Quinn and JJ. They hit the gym hard this summer and come back stronger

Look at the speed and pace of Rousek (number 11 in the video)

Sabres could use that on their 4th line.

Re-watching the Amerks game again doing some tracking and it’s still pretty crazy how easy they were able to beat the Bears aggressive forecheck all game and fly through the neutral zone with speed to abuse the slow defenders.

Looking at the forward lineup for the upcoming season, doesn't look like there is any space for players like Savoie and Kulich.

What's interesting is trying to find space for the 24-25 season, especially if they extend Mittelstadt.

if they wanted kulich and murray to play a few games here, they had 3 callups remaining and infinite roster spots to do it.

The only reason you sign Okie is to not upset the apple cart of momentum from last year. and that is just DUMB on the part of GMKA. So what, we need a DAD to babysit kids? JFC offer Okie a coaching job. His days of being productive are long gone. A complete waste of a roster spot IMO.
