Agreed. The real issue was the PGA grandstanding against "blood money" barely a year ago, when anybody who read two paragraphs of Shipnuck's interview with Phil Mickelson knew the real motive was that they were butthurt about him calling the tour out.

Funny how times change. A good amount of people weren't happy with the gross overpayment he took last year and look at it now. If he went for 20/50 this year he would've looked like a genius.

He is good but I don't think he accomplished more than Dahlin when he signed his bridge.

I can totally see OP signing 7 large for 8 years. that's a lot of money and frankly he can sign another huge contract at 28-29 years old.

I think all the risk is on the Sabres with a contract like that, however if I was GMKA I would be doing it in a heartbeat.

Thought their approach with Dahlin was going long term, but he and his agent wanted a bridge, unless I am misremembering.

I remember Heiskanen signing early that summer and that likely throwing a wrench in their talks.

Still see that deal as a factor today. His 8.45m should be the floor for Power.
