I will sort of repeat something I mentioned a few days ago and this will show my age.

What people consider good playoffs compared to what there was years ago, IMO is a far cry from good playoffs. I don't know why someone wants to convince Mini or Lordie or even myself to watch the playoffs when we have no interest.

To me good playoffs was when you had the Battle of Alberta (Hunter v Jackson or Semenko) The Habs and the Nordiques brawl, and one of my favorites The Hawks and the Canucks.

I had no interest in the PO the last couple of years because what most people call exciting is watered down for me. I look at it this way, it is like watching the best sitcom for years and years and then in the final years the writers are reaching to make a show and the quality falls.

I have seen some of the best hockey ever played on this planet and to me this last few years comes nothing close to that. I am happy for you guys that are enjoying it, but for me I don't have any interest other than reading the results.

Trust me I do realize this is something an old man screaming at the clouds says but I don't know why some very few get upset. Enjoy the game for those watching.

Agreed. No interest in watching if the Canucks aren't in it. I've watched a bit but usually lose interest after a few minutes and search for something else. Will look up the highlights after the game, but really more interested in what teams are going to do between now and the draft. The nice weather has been a big factor as well. Regular season and playoffs are both too long. Shorter pre-season, 70 game season, and the first two rounds of the playoffs should be best of 5.

I know, I know, this will never happen. Just saying'.

I am very excited to see what happens after the SCF.

I think things are changing. Fans are very much into fantasy sports, the draft, tanking, free agency, sports betting and team building.

I find the PO are fading and less are watching unless their team is in it. Probably supports the thinking of why the league likes big markets in the finals.

And as you said last week the weather was great.

Yet he built the best top 9 to not make the playoffs!

He's no Nonis. That Tkachuk trade is aging like a fine wine though. Thanks Treliving.

2nd round picks are to the Canucks as the 13th floor is to skyscrapers.

The best Canuck 2nd round picks are probably Michael Peca and Kurt Fraser, Demko hasn't played enough games to make that list.

Everyone thought it was a win for Brad, then Huberdue shat the bed. Funny though Calgary loses its 2 best players and still finishes higher than the Canucks. Hard to figure that one out.

Drafting 16 th and long term anchored contracts. To think you accomplished all this without having Benning.

The Canucks will never win anything until they start properly utilizing the draft. They’re just endlessly stuck in this perpetual circle of trying to win without “building” a team from drafting. I understand their current stance, I don’t agree with it, but I get it, it’s what the owner wants and they’ve got some great young players in Pettersson, Demko and Hughes that they wanna be competitive for.

You know, since, and including, the 2000 draft they’ve only picked 13 times in the second round. Chicago, who’s won three Cups in that span, has picked 34 times in the second round, Tampa Bay Lightning 24.

Now, only three of the Canucks 13 second round picks played 100 or more NHL games. Nine of the Blackhawks 34 picks played in 100 or more games, including Duncan Keith, Crawford, Bowland, Bickell & Saad who all won Cups with them. Eight Lightning players of their 24 picks played in 100 or more NHL games, including Kucherov.

Finding kids is extremely difficult, you’ve gotta have a volume of picks, I hope they trade back with Chicago and grab their 19th pick and two second round picks in the process.

Yeah I remember, Tre was being lauded as the next GM of the year. Now you've got Nonis and Conroy. Your two best players suck and got a Coach and GM fired. Plus you're using the Canucks as a measuring stick. Sad really.
