Do you think Silovs will make Demko dispensable in 2024/25 or at worst 2025/26?

I don't know. Would still need a capable back up then or another young goalie pushing Silovs.
- manvanfan

Varlamov I had in mind on a 1 year. I see drafting & developing other goalies to fill in 5yrs time. Keep drafting them & let Clark do his magic. Something along those lines. Planning on Silovs to be a full time come by the 2025/26 season at latest.

Just posing an idea. Not shopping Demko just tossing it out there.

Thoughts? I personally think it’s a safe pick but wouldn’t mind a pick with a more WOW.

Quite a few goalies. Spencer Martin is only 27, hopefully he can rebound from a poor showing last season.

Mikita Talapila is that new Belarussian monster they signed. Real good numbers in the Allsvenskan last season for a 22 year old. AHL back up most likely this season.

Koskenvuo hopefully gets more than 2 games at Harvard. He's years away.

Ty Young thanks to a very late Sept birthday I believe has 2 more years of playing juniors.

I’m not concerned with the goalies in the system. They’ve all got potential & nice to have that many.

This offseason will be awkward & most difficult to make significant changes to the roster. Imo Allvin has been patient & he could still manage a good cap move at a palatable price. I’m hedging my bets as the draft nears or at the draft is when he will make his move(s). The following offseason will be the big time to look forward to once Petey is locked up then or sooner & the cap increases greatly. In the meantime we need to see the current roster improve from within & the prospects to make bigger strides. It’s sorely needed on both fronts.

I agree he’s a very good 3C calibre pick & luv his size. His playmaking isn’t the best but we’ve wingers that can drive the play if the 3rd line can gel & be a force.

He had a decent season and a good tournament, he's still a long ways from being an NHL starter.

I just want us to win a Cup before Toronto does, I don't care if the Flames, Oilers, Jets, Sens or Canadiens win a Cup before us, I just do not want the Leafs to win before we do. I think that's possibly doable right?
- DariusKnight

Neither team will Ever win a cup. I’d be surprised if a Canadian team ever wins again

He won’t be there at 11 and he is a better prospect than Bo

Yeah it’s only possible if the teams reach on D in top 10 and go for some power wingers or play making forwards. I don’t know what the combination would be for that gift to happen.

Care to make a mock draft guess?

All it would take is a couple of teams to jump on D early.

It only takes 1 to send a draft for a loop.

Scouts not public scouts but actual scouts are talking about a play driving center with size and compete as a 17 year old. He doesn't turn 18 for two weeks or something. That package doesn't come around too often. If Michkov drops like a rock, your are looking 5-6-7

Sound's like a solid pick. Hey, VAN need's to get lucky sometime? Wonder if Allvin chases him?

I'm listening to a Hockey Prospect Radio - 2023 NHL Draft Preview Part 1 with Shane Malloy & Brad Allen & Jason Bukala

Malloy just said on average since the salary cap era that from rounds 3-7 usually about 15 players will play 200 plus games.

They all think the quality of this draft drops off pretty good after the 2nd round.

I wouldn’t classify DD as a play driving C but could round it one on a decent level in time.

Brad Allen telling a story about he had a chat about Dale and Mark Hunter in London and they had said character is the most important thing they look for in players.

That's why GM's and Scouts have said that the interviews are the combine are huge.
