Check. I’ve read a few articles on their cap situation and essentially after paying their RFA’s and putting Pearson and Poolman on LTR they will be compliant. Unfortunately they can’t improve the team and we know they want a 3C and a top 4 D at a minimum. How the (frank) do they do that? Don’t know, they are a bit (frank)ed. But I think it’s important to note that they technically don’t have to attach assets to move

Nah, Leo Carlsson is a 1st overall calibre prospect most years. He is a pretty safe bet to be a legit 1 C. Having a top end prospect for years of cheap control far outweighs the right to pay Miller market value for 8 years until he is an old man.

How high above the cap are they allowed to go on July 1st? No limit as long as they are compliant on day 1 of the season?

Their free agent signings last year (apart from Kuzmenko of course) weren't too encouraging. I really hope they ship Garland and/or Myers out for cap space, but I'm not holding my breath on that because of the aforementioned low salary cap.
