Is this a joke?

Why would it be a joke? A 4th overall pick plus pick 23 in the first is an overpayment when you might leverage yourself into the Stanley Cup finals next year? Shane Wright isn't ready for primetime yet, but will be a good center, in time. If it were the other way around, I could see the Leafs parting with a similar package, if it got us into a position to win it all.

LH because its preposterous.

First Seattle has no need or spot for Nylander and he would only screw up the team pay scale. With Eberle, McCann, Burakovsky, Schwartz, Kartye etc wtc even with the teams current rfa/ufa simply not a hole or fit.

Second Seattle, while having an amazing cinderella run, is a second year expansion team building depth. We are not planning deep runs every year or close to it yet. The weak pacific division really is a benefit but... thinking Francis is going to trade off picks/prospects isnt really his style or expected.

Really there is no fit at all.

I'd pay more attention perhaps to LA but really? Colorado! No Landeskog next year now they could benefit adding Willy and look to move assets as they're still a playoff and cup contender.

1 Cup in 12 years. Sounds about right.

Dumba gets you better bang for the buck than overpaid guys like Risto and Klingberg but he’s never been the same since he tore his chest muscle in a fight. Even in his best years he was never any better than average defensively and his offense has dried up. He needs to play with a good stay at home LD to help him out but he’ll have trouble justifying being a #4 going forward. It’s tough being 29 when your community diversity efforts overshadow your play.

Yeah, I think anyone who thinks this could happen didn't watch Ronny Francis in Carolina all those years. It just isn't what he does. But objectively it wouldn't make a lot of sense objectively to give up a highly prized center prospect for another scoring winger when Seattle is flush with those anyway. Nylander to Colorado used to be a staple of this board - so much so that when a trade was announced with Toronto right at the deadline in 2019 almost everyone was probably thinking it was Nylander not Kadri. I'm pretty sure you're right that they're looking at him now.
