Nope, playoff OT is great....

Now what needs fixing is regular season OT. This puck possession, keep away style is boring as it gets. Make it a minor penalty if the team with puck possession enters the offensive zone and then willing leaves the zone with the puck.

Look that’s the response to 3x3 so make it 5x5. Again any time you tinker one way another issue pops up. If regular season was unlimited OT no problem. But the don’t play for the tie cause there will be a team winning one way or another is how we ended up in this rule changing game.

Game length is the issue for the NHL.....5x5 until a winner will last far too long far too many times. They tinkered with it and came up with the current system, tinker again. Make them try to score, not play keep away, create change of possessions, and call penalties. Definitely get rid of the shootout solution.

Don't change the OT.

Just push the date back if you've got to do something. The playoffs are about attrition and a challenge so deep it makes it worthwhile.

Totally against changing OT rules. Just wondering - and I realize this is really far out, but - would a coach consider pulling the goalie in OT at some point? One way or the other, the game will likely be won fairly quickly. Obviously, if a team facing elimination would likely not do this, but trying to think outside the box.

I would change 1 thing and it doesn't include the physical part of the game.

I enjoy the 5v5 and remember watching the Flyers Pens in 2000 til 2:30am when I had a final to take at 5 hours later.

The playing is good. The goaltending is spectacular and the memontem shift keep it very interesting when 1 wrong play could end it for your team.

My change, and this goes into the regular season as well, is the officiating. They tend to become more relaxed on plays when during regular time it would be a call. They need to keep the standard straight through the game. If you call it in the 1st period then call it in the 4th OT period. I don't like seeing games end in OT bc a call was not made just because it is OT. Its not fair to the fans, the game, the players and especially the 1 person who might take the most crititism especially if its a game 7, the losing goalie.

No change needed!
Never heard rumblings about a change to this in the past.
I've lived through glorious games (2022 PITT @ NYR, Spicy Pork and Broccoli, 2017 ECF Pitt vs OTT (2OT), 2008 PITT @ DET, 3 OT, 1996 PITT @ Caps 4 OT) and some disasters (Pitt vs PHI 5 OT).
Wouldnt change any of it. I dont hear of too many injuries coming directly from the multiple OT games.
Suddenly, people are upset with Multi-OT...WHY? Because it ruins ESPN programming schedule! Now they are forced to show hockey instead of NBA/WNBA highlights, and that drives the people in Bristol NUTS!

I could go for 4 on 4 beyond OT 2, but there is no need to do this! Playoff hockey is the best playoff competition anywhere, and the multiple OT scenario is part of it

Like clock work after an epic OT some journalist (use that term loosely) comes in hot with...should Ot be changed take. Do us all a favor...and I know you like it the way it is...just leave it alone. Do something original.
