Itching to project a line up for next year but pointless til after changes have to happen. Only thing I can see is maybe Gavrikov signing. Miky top 6 winger pretty certain of.

I don’t know where you’re getting this false narrative that the current management group doesn’t want to draft? They have six draft picks in the top four rounds, do you know the last time the Canucks had six picks in the top four rounds? It was 1984.

They’re trying to be competitive and support their young core, yet still build towards the future with a bunch of draft picks and trading for or signing young players. As of right now they’ve been on the job just over a year, if they aren’t at least somewhat successful in three or four years, then I’ll be the first to be calling them out. Despite the Miller contract I’m just not ready to poop all over them until they’ve had more time. Unlike you.

Ya there is this puzzling narrative by a few on here that new management = Old management. It’s simply very far from the truth so far. Far better pro scouting, development and recruiting. At least to date. Still early

Two thirds and three fourths

A great opportunity to build depth in the organization, but you keep on hating everything.

If they manage to scratch one or two NHL depth players out of those 3rd & 4th round picks it’s a huge win.

Yup night & day. Takes time to show the fruit of the new regime. They’ll have to separate themselves from the old regime by continuing what you’ve said. Yes too early to judge.

It’s still extremely early! There’s plenty of time to mess up everything good they’ve done, like Benning was famous for, but to date, the only blemish is the Miller deal. Even then, he’s turned things around with both his play and his attitude. I still think he’s and!ck though.

I don't hate anything. I am laughing at you slamming Benning and praising the new group as they do exactly what the last guys did in even less time.

I like some of the things they have done but I definitely see similar mistakes. Their trades have stunk so far. Their drafting when they do keep the pick has been less than impressive. Their cap spending is maxed. They hand out draft picks like TikTocs but thank God we have 3 fourth round picks because they are mostly hidden gems in that round. Lickermaki solid pick.

Keep waving the pom poms.

JTM will be under the microscope next season no doubt. Pressure won’t bother him if he comes in on a mission he’ll be just fine. Like RT says this offseason all the players gotta come to camp in better shape & ready outta the gate. No passengers will be tolerated imo. Sending out shots across the bow to some & to others a clear message he wants a lot more.

The pro scouting so far has got us Dermott Bear Studnika Stillman Kravstov in trades, am I missing something?

Oh yeah Hronek who has played 4 games.

I have the luxury of having watched Benning for eight years, as far as passing judgment. I haven’t had that luxury with these people. To be honest, I was happy with Benning for almost two years, then the wheels fell off and he just kept digging a deeper hole.

I don’t think their trades have been bad, the Horvat trade tree is a great example of good asset management, except maybe adding the second round pick. They’re drafting has been less than impressive LOL, how the (frank) would you know that? Those kids haven’t even had a year of development

It’ll take 2-3 years to see real results. Next season should show some growth or a good glimpse of where this team is going. Just don’t need to see another tank start.

Bear was clearly a win. Why did you leave out Aman, Joshua, johansson, Kuzy Bains etc? I think we all know why. Good to know Hronek is a bust after 4 games

Current management trades a 7th in 3 years for Kravstov, benning would have traded a 2nd

Imagine if automagically we don’t have the contracts for OEL Myers & Garland all JB trades. 18m there alone with maybe 10m value. Being generous but that 8m is some spicy cap space we don’t have.

You ask me how would I know how the draft picks turn out but say the trade tree is good management. How the fuck would you know how that turns out? Raty is 3C on Abby.

Beauvillier is playing third line now that his new surroundings bump is back to where he was with NYI.

Hronek damaged good so far.

Kravtsov is in make or break territory worth a cheap 7th. He’s going to get a big list of MUST do’s this offseason. On the fringe atm.

Kravstov blows and is headed back to Russia. But he was worth a quick look for a nothing asset 3 years from now and we did Millstein a favor

Because Hronek is a proven right shot NHL dman, he’s not a draft pick. They traded a pending UFA for a bonafide top four, sub 25 year old, right shot dman. Clearly an organizational need and a huge win. But you keep hating a clear positive step in the right direction.

Wow

Kuzy was a gift. There was no scouting involved. 32 teams were on him trying to sign him. Most fans here wanted to trade Kuz including Lefty before he hit 20 goals and a new contract. I am not sure, but you may have been one too I will need to ask Mini.

Bains Johansson Aman Joshua all amateur scouting not pro. Bains will be lucky if he plays 30 games as a Canuck unless there is an influence from the Indo fan support.

Bear was trade. Not a good trade just a trade. I hope he doesn't make the roster next year because his play does not move the needle on bit.

Raty is young & an AHL team shouldn’t have prospects top 2C if they are any good at developing. Using vets til a prospect bumps them. He hasn’t been here very long so a good offseason if he gets a shot as a 2nd C is needed.

Beauvillier is getting bumped while RT looks for 3rd wheels to complement lines. Winger logjam has to change. He’s a UFA after next season & on better deal than Garland. Playing for his next contract. It’s fluid at this juncture.

I’ll give Hronek a pass & wait til next season. Heal up & come into camp ready to go.
