I think he is a 5/6 Dman when it comes to happen. Don't get me wrong he plays a solid game, I think he will play a few years like a Jordie Benn in his prime.
The thing about young D ready to make a move they need a bit a sheltering. With the Canucks that is hard to find. Who would you get to shelter him? Myers? Bear Briesbois Juulsen? I think this years D almost the entire roster needed sheltering. Almost everyone needs to go. - VANTEL

But the GM has come out and said there are other ways to build a team besides the draft and a week later he sends two top forty picks out the door.
I don't get why people complain about the prospect pool and applaud the trades sending out draft picks.
I have given up on the draft. Like the Who say "Won't get fooled again". Honestly I am not expecting to draft until the third round this year unless a miracle happens and they win the Lottery. - VANTEL
The prospect pool should pretty much have nothing to do with a regime that’s been around for only a year, they’ve drafted one draft. It’s sad that the top guys are mostly from this current management. I fully expect them to draft with all of their six picks they currently have in the top four rounds, maybe more? Drafting is the lifeline of any successful franchise, I don’t view this management group as desperate like Benning was in his last two years. They’ll pretty much do what Benning tried to do his first six years, compete and build at the same time, I just hope they’re more successful at it. |

After Hughes & Hronek nothing screams ooh aah in any way that promises solid D for years. Bear 3rd pairing is best if we somehow find or draft a top 4 RHD. OEL either reinvents himself or LTIRetires. That is one huge burden of an anchor that never should’ve happened.
We’ve nobody to shelter the prospects. Sad state indeed. |

Imo new Mgmt has focussed on F’s 1st for depth & scoring. Done pretty ok there. The D takes time & the hard unravelling is painful to watch.
Big offseason ahead moving out cap & on that note they’ve got to be creative which JB never had an ounce of. Unravelling his mess is a titanic task. |

Raty and Licker are both years away and Klimo is questionable. I will leave Bains until he is more ready. Woo should be called in soon. - VANTEL
Bains and Woo could probably play now. Klimo, Liquormaki and Rathbone suck |

Would be good to see Woo, but he's just figuring it out so I could see them leaving him in Abby to continue to build. - neem55
Use him or lose him. Can be claimed off waivers next season |

They’ve done a good job letting him develop, Woo. He’s only 22 years old, 23 this summer. Kevin Bieksa was 24 when he made the Canucks, he had a good career. |

Ya hopefully he has a great off-season, if he makes the team that's great. I'm not sure he'll be a player whether we lose him or not.

They said they will call him up this year. What I seen from him I like. The mistakes he use to make regularly seem to be fixed. He is still young but close. - VANTEL
Seems like he has finally put it together a bit. I didn't know they said he will get an audition, seems a bit premature to me based on that he's really only played well the last 20 games or so.

Careful, next thing you know he'll be using his participation ribbon to tie your hair up in a man bun. Then wisping you off on his electric scooter to the nearest kombucha bar. - Load Management

Ya I could see that. I thought he'd be in Abby through the playoffs this year, but we shall see!

Burroughs would be a great leader on Abby and first call up.

Kuzy, Bains, Hirose, johanssen, Aman etc - CanuckDon
I have never seen Johanssen so I can't comment.
Bains is not on my list.
Hirose had a decent game, need to see a lot more. I turned off the third period against LA so I will correct myself by saying I seen him play 2 periods.
Aman is decent. He still needs more time in the number 4C.

You've come a ways from we don't need LHD I see. Yes we still need two more top 4 dmen, I'm hoping it is the priority this offseason.

I want Gavrikov been saying it for a long time. Way before the Millstein effect & Dahli. |

I don’t know where you’re getting this false narrative that the current management group doesn’t want to draft? They have six draft picks in the top four rounds, do you know the last time the Canucks had six picks in the top four rounds? It was 1984.
They’re trying to be competitive and support their young core, yet still build towards the future with a bunch of draft picks and trading for or signing young players. As of right now they’ve been on the job just over a year, if they aren’t at least somewhat successful in three or four years, then I’ll be the first to be calling them out. Despite the Miller contract I’m just not ready to poop all over them until they’ve had more time. Unlike you. |

Idc for any of the UFA RHD’s.
Klingberg is crap defensively & overrated himself & doesn’t fill any of our needs.
Severson too pricey & again not what we need. D isn’t a strength.
Soucy a lefty who can play either side is about the only option if he’d sign & a fair contract. Not sure top 4 but could fill in ok.
Gudas if you like an older banger but only for 3rd pair.
Didn’t look any deeper so no hopes on RHD seeing a fix soon. Explains much why Hronek was obtained. |

I’m not going to poop on Mgmt either. They face a huge uphill battle with the cap & D fixing. Yes they spent cap on F’s but I liked the signings & others like Joshua & Aman on the cheap. 1 full year is only the beginning that has to continue getting a better roster design. Depth improved a bit. This offseason will really be the start of retooling more towards the PO hunt. |
