I have no issue with JTM's contract or play. I think he is doing what he is paid for perhaps even higher value. Time will tell how it ages. But if the Canucks were rebuilding I am not sure they get more value then that. And they would have to admit to rebuild if they traded him.

As much I want/have wanted JTM to be traded, realistically with the course management is taking right now the only way I can see him being traded is in the vein of the Horvat/Hronek trade: trade JTM for picks, immediately trade those picks for a mid-20s center (someone like Roslovic, Glass, Schmaltz, etc.).. someone cheaper than JTM who they think can come into the 2C position and have a career year with more time/responsibility.

That said, I don't think they'll trade him.
