Damn it’s actually a 2 year window. Petterson is a UFA in two seasons. He is either making $12MM or he may not want to stay.

JTM is clearly the better player, not saying Schmaltz is an upgrade. But it's sort of resetting the contracts, making sure JTM isn't an anchor, and giving yourself a bit of flexibility while solidifying a solid 2C. Hopefully with a better roster Schmaltz can get some more points as well.

As for the toughness, hopefully they can trade Garland or Boes this offseason, and have some tougher wingers.

Definitely would require more and more surgeries dependant on the moves you make. It's not all that easy to make moves.

I'd say the easy part is done so far and it could be just as easy going forward unless they plan on making it hard for themselves.

Sounds like Petey is liking what he is seeing here. Tochett said he comes to my office quite often to discuss hockey. He is getting a lot more vocal and stepping up as a team leader.

I think Petey likes playing with Kuz and both will come in around 10 mil on their next contracts. Him and Hughes are also great friends. I don't think their is any issues at all.
