2 out of 3 from the west was good...Next 5 are not going to be easy...

Leafs, Blue Jackets, Buffalo, Devils and Caps. Need to go 4-1...I think that would help solidify their playoff push.

Buffalo playing some “exciting” hockey today.

Interesting point. The bubble teams like the Isles have the most incentive to play with desperation. The teams that are virtually a lock to make the playoffs likely won't have that sense of urgency. If they have a player who is a little banged up, maybe give him a night off. Why risk further injury against a hard-hitting team like the Isles? Sure, seeding counts for something........but really not that much. When was the last time the President's Trophy winner also won the Cup?

Kinda what I was thinking. On top of this the teams out of the PO are playing free and easy trying to impress for next season etc.

Excited to potentially get bedard. Basically isles pens and panthers.

Yup, and only 2 Wild Card spots, so who's going to lose out? The Caps just lost in regulation to the Wild, so they have very little chance.

Yep. I think the Panthers get in unless they fall apart and I don’t see that happening. Pens I could see falling apart where as we’re consistently keeping our head above water. Not killing it but staying in it enough, which to me is pretty impressive with Barzal out and Horvat not scoring. Hoping Aho isn’t out for any extended time that could be a lot more negatively impactful then some think.

Isles play caps twice in their remaining 11 games. This will determine their fate, I would think.

It's going to come down to the last games. We knew it would.

I agree with this 100%. We have to beat this stupid team.

Actually if you had asked me about a month and a half ago, I'd have said this team was dead in the water and their last games this season would be meaningless

Glad they found their game and made it a lot more interesting.

Yep I did as well. After Barzal went down I thought we had to little to no chance to keep it close down the stretch. The team as a whole deserves a ton of credit.

Tough game for Bolduc to walk into. He's better defensively than Aho, but we lose some speed

Long term Bolduc should be the better player. Could be tough in the short term.

From Rosner: Barzal has a twin. It's Bolduc, so everyone can stop flipping pancakes. If Barzal was back, you would know. #Isles

They very well may. I still think the Pens falter a little bit and if we can keep up at this pace we can get the last spot. Florida I think gets the first wildcard.

I have a feeling they may as well. I see us going 6-5 on this final stretch, which probably won't get in. Ironically I think it's those two gams against TB that may bury us. Considering how TB laid down for virtually everyone we are competing with over the last few weeks, I'll hate them more than ever.
The Panthers have some tough games left but I think they'll get 8-9 wins, which will be enough. The Pens schedule is pretty lame, so I think they also grab 8-9 wins. If the Isles are going to make it, they'll need to steal a couple of games from someone like Toronto, Tampa or the Hurricanes

All three teams have tough teams mixed in their remaining schedule. Isles need to maintain their game. They need to play KISS hockey.
