46 games 13 goals 7 assists. For carrier.
Not girgensons #'s

I would think he could bump peterka or put them into a healthy rotation with quinn and krebs

Trading a 28 year old vet for last year's late 1st rounder?

I think it's closer then you think

- Boss34

Well, we know you have a type.

18 points in 56 games last year vs 20 in 63.

Worth a 2nd, but why would they trade him at all? Low cap hit grinder they need.

Carrier is more my type then great28.

Both expansion teams took good solid players, with borgen.

I cant believe posters aren't more excited about the 1,2 punch at center for 14 million.

Seems like the exact opposite of July 1st when we briere and drury

Exactly. Once the 2006 core was here it was an awful dry spell other than maybe stafford. It was like a guy like Nadeau being our top prospect.

I don't know if you know this but you don't get to speak for the "Fans". I know a lot of fans who think like I do. Yet I don't presume to speak for anyone other than myself. And as far as equating a move or set of moves to Taylor that is just blattently idiotic. Teams make the types of trades I am talking about to get them over the hump for the playoff push all the time. Look at the two major trades that have happened in the last few days. Especially non-sensical comment since I am not placing names on the trades I want them to make. I just want them to make a trade that is designed to help them to take a legitimate run at the playoffs. Again, my personal opinion, but one that I FEEL is shared by many fans who have had crap teams for the majority of 12 years and want a team that is at least in the running until the last day of the regular season.

It’s not about just this year. It’s about the next 5 years

Adams isn’t going all in on a cup run or getting a rental to the average fan is happy

It’s juvenile to think that

Even with Cozens deal the Sabres are still about 2m under the floor next year. The year after they are 26m under the floor. Other than like 3 or 4 players everyone is signed for next year. Sabres could give Dahlin a 10m Avv which kicks in in 2yrs and depending on who else they sign could still be 12 to 15m under the cap in 2yrs having Dahlin signed and that's including Timo in there at 9m Avv. As long as the Sabres keep there flow of prospects coming up through the bottom 6 they really shouldn't have a problem with there cap for atleast 5yrs and by them the Cap should be 90-92m or higher.

I get that We will see. The suitors for Timo have gone down since the rangers got taresenko

Timo Meier is basically a von Miller signing. It’s a bold move that is too soon for the cherry ontop.

Bills obviously in a different spot

Isn't the excitement obvious with all the talk here of wanting to go big now on Chychrun and Meier, because they now have cost certainly on their top 2 Centers?

The idea of trading a very promising mid 1st round Center from last season's draft for a 4th line winger on a shooting bender at 28 feels bonkers.

Many are hyped about Kulich, and rightfully so, but Ostlund has a ton of promise. He's too easily forgotten, and should not be.

Hard Pass, now is not the time to rid the pipeline of talent…. We are not winning the cup this year… I say stand pat let the kids play out the rest of the year. We are still a couple years away… dont pull a Tim Murray move again. 6 players for 2 is not good business now

Breaking those deals apart, that is a steep price to pay for Chychrun as Ostlund is very promising and this coming draft is loaded, but that Meier deal (Casey, Rosen, a 23 2nd)?

How the hell would any Sabres fan say no to that?

I'd target will carrier.

Comrie and oslund for carrier.

Although I think Vegas really likes him.

- Boss34

This is some Grade A trolling Boss, only way I would include Ostlund in this deal is if Theodore's name is there too.

On this day 30 years ago, February 10th, 1993, The greatest tandem in Buffalo Sabre history did a number on the Winnipeg Jets. Patty LaFontaine had a goal a 5 helpers while the magic man Alex Mogilny had 4 goals and an apple of his own. Grant Fuhr stopped 34 of 36 and the boys won 6-2.

So who do you want to get rid of in order to fit timo Meier under the cap long term?

No power? No Dahlin? Who is leaving to fit him in long term

- Sabretooth9

Answer your own question by doing the roster with Cap hits over multiple years.
You will soon realize this "oh we can't sign all these guys" is an empty argument.

It's not very hard to go and look at CapFriendly and see that the Sabres are pretty good for atleast the next 4 or 5yrs.

How about rosen or a protected 1st for carrier.

20 points this season is underrated

- Boss34

How about Girgs for Carrier?
YOU should be able to sell them that.

Yes he did, know go get Dahlin signed for 7 x 9.5m Avv, bridge Power for 3yrs x 6.5m Avv and you basically have your whole core locked up for 4 more Years.

Damn even with Cozens extension the Sabres still have 24.7mill in Cap space next year. So they are actually still almost 4m under the floor even with Cozens. Yes only 17 players under Contract but most of that is bottom 6 players so won't cost a arm and leg. Sabres cap shouldn't hinder anything they choose to do.

Gonna take some flake for this, but Oh Well. With the Market the way it is and the 2 trades that just happened. There isn't many pure goal scorers on the Market. It will hurt Buffalo for right now, but with Olofsson being hot this TDL could be the perfect time to get some good Value for him and help this team gain assets for the now and future.

I completely understand your viewpoint, but I'm only doing that if Buffalo is all but eliminated from playoff contention by the trade deadline.

I value a playoff attempt over extracting maximum value from Olofsson.

Also, how much would his trade value really diminish if he finishes the season strong, and they trade him in the offseason?

Well off course the next 9 or 10 games will show a bigger picture. If they roll out of this break and put a nice run together than I would keep him to, but if they lay a egg here in those games I would move him if the right deal was offered. And it might not diminish his value, but if it helps the Sabres I think you have to think about it this year, basically next 3 weeks should tell the story.
