No thanks. Rather pay Meier an extra 2.5 and give up more in a trade. Since hes actually good at the hockey.

Brock stinks

makar and fox signed their big deals after 3 seasons

dahin's big deal will kick in after 6 seasons

more reasons why dahlin will make more per year on his long term deal

- homiedclown

I'm probably coming off as the guy asking for comparables and then disagreeing with what I asked for.

My point , there's only one dahlin. Makar is pretty awesome, but who in the nhl would you rather have then dahlin locked up for his prime years.

Makars next deal will make 11 million look like a deal for dahlin.

I think Ostlund is a trade chip, he's like the 6th center on the future team depth depending if you like him or Rosen better. I think the sabres can deal one of Savoie and Kulich and one of Rosen and Ostlund and still be ridiculously set at center for a decade.

I would hang up on anyone asking for him for Boeser straight up though.

They are really only two comparables for Dahlin. Fox and Makar. I get that they play “differently” but fox is a complete player, he’s not remotely close to Jacob Bryson, has a Norris, and Dahlin is possibly a more complete player. You could throw Hedman as a comparable as well, and use the cap at the time as a percentage. Just a guess, he’s in that 9-9.5 range for now adjusted dollars off his 7.875 per when he signed.
- SDSabre

This is good

I'm sure a 6 year deal would be 9-9.5 like maker's / hedmans deal. Probably a bit more for inflation?

6 year deals are different / buying out another year or 2 of free agency , prime years too

Doubt even half of them are NHL centers. Rosen has always been a winger.. Dont know where you got the idea of him on the center depth chart. Kulich could be better used on the wing. Same with Savoie. Ostlund is a damn good playmaker. He could be the most natural center out of them all.

Unless one is needed for a Meier/Chicken-man.. I don't trade any of them.

Ostlund is a significantly better prospect than Rosen IMO. Have to give to get and he should be one of the many chips we're willing to deal, but he should be a more valuable one.

I would prefer keeping Ostlund over Rosen in any trade scenario.

I would disagree. People know he's 3rd line on Buffalo so they aren't going to simply overpay to help the sabres out.

He likely Gavrikov on his own if the sabres are lucky. Blue jackets want a first round pick for him and there's a few teams likely willing to pay for it.

- Aaron_85

Mitts is “3rd line” because Cozens and Thompson emerged as a 1/2 punch down the middle.

I think he needs a change of scenery and playing with Gaudreau or Laine could be good for him obviously… I think he has more upside than Jenner in that situation.

So add Jokiharju to the mix. Joker + Mitts for Jenner + Gavrikov.

Throw in an extra 2nd

Player on your own team who is underrated/underappreciated?

Rasmus Dahlin, Buffalo Sabres: I would say Casey Mittelstadt is never getting any credit. He's always doing the right things out there.

Rosen is the guy who if he goes he goes. I would like to see our other 3 top forward prospects stay on the team. You need cheap talent coming up to win a cup. Will need their cheap high level production when up against the cap

Anyone else follow some of these players on social media? Tuch, Tage, Dahlin, Krebs, Cozens and Bryson have all been in The Bahamas together along with the WAGs. Love how close this team is, but I am taking the under on Saturday. Friggen lobsterfest.

Hamilton Bulldogs moving to Brantford for the next three years, but the owner has no commitment from Hamilton once the three year lease is over.

Hamilton spending millions in arena upgrades and are willing to let the Bulldogs and Toronto Rock go away 🧐

Which AHL team, or dare I say NHL team is moving there in 3 years ?

Isn’t there a radius of non compete or exclusivity between franchises? I don’t think you could just move an nhl team into Hamilton without some pretty heavy negotiations between the nhl and Sabres and Toronto. Of course I could be wrong. Maybe an AHL team?!?

Toronto wouldn’t care, Buffalo absolutely would.

They’d lose a large chunk of their season ticket holder base and a lot of their secondary market.

That’s why Hamilton didn’t get a team back in 2008 when Basilie was trying to bring a team there.

I just find it interesting how the city of Hamilton is going to put millions of dollars into an upgraded arena that very well could sit empty… seems fishy to me

Teams have called Adams to take some bad contracts due to the amount of cap space the Sabres have

Adams said no to any cap dumps

When I heard that I immediately thought of the Blues or leafs

My 2 cents, for what it’s worth.

Cozens deal was not under market value, IMO. Neither was the Tage deal at the time.
My biggest question is does Dahlin take an under market value deal to:
1- keep this train rolling
2- position the Sabres to go after a Meier type
3- not create friction with the Tage deal (ie, Dahlin gets 10.5 per and a couple years down the road Tage feels slighted as he’s leading the league)
4- if you truly love where you play, what’s the difference between being stupid rich and being stupid rich? Does 1-2 mil make that big of a difference when you’re already a multi millionaire? It is worth breaking a smalll market team?

- lulags

You are kidding, right? We are talking real dollars not fantasy league currency. Of course it matters.

I am Covid free, so I shall return to the arena Saturday. According to the ticketmaster map, the game is almost sold out right now. This portends great things for the team that afternoon. If I were betting man I might toss $100 on the Sabres moneyline for the game. Calgary is gonna get hit in the face I think.

4 - 0 win. Shutout number 2 of the season for Andy. Yes, it should be an Andy game. When fully rested, he's a top 10 goalie in the league. UPL gets the next 3 starts.

Anyone's guess who Meatballs gives the net to though. Either way, we win.
