The article states that is not the norm for what Keefe does in OT. It also states that he is changing it up. Tortorella does it every time and the teams record is 1-7. Clearly two very different situations.

Exactly why I said at times, still a high praised coach starting two D

Doing it once is at times? If the Flyers were successful.in OT, one might understand that. That's not the case though.

Toronto also has a terrible record in OT with all of their talent, it’s a gimmick. I personally wouldn’t start two D but look at last night. The Flyers with their two D were a hair away from winning that game, great look from Laughton and then the chance for Sanheim. It is what it is

TO does play two d in ot when they are healthy back there, but who cares what TO does. It’s not relevant. What is relevant is the fact that it does not work here. I need the play finished. Just as Torts wants plays in the d zone finished and he is spot on in that regard, we need them finished at the other end of the ice. Finally, we are now scoring goals which is great, but this two dman strategy in OT sucks. It’s terrible. I like Torts and think he is doing a good job overall w our youth which is the most important thing and we now play the right way for the most part n compete, but this OT strategy must change.

Who cares if you retain possession if you don’t have Frost, Tip, K and Hayes on the ice consistently to finish.. we need the right mits on the ice.

Would you look at one scoring chance to determine if it works or the larger sample of 1-7? It's an archaic strategy by an archaic coach.

Please provide the information that he’s started every single OT with two D. I don’t necessarily agree with it, and Risto should never ever be out there but if it’s York and Sanheim or something like last night I’m not gonna be up in arms about it. I’d prefer to see TK and Farabee or Frost and Tip

Toronto doesnt regularly plays 2 forwards and a defenseman in OT. Tortorella has the Flyers playing a team game but they don't play the right way. Their systems are archaic and too passive.

Well it’s not just one scoring chance, not sure what game it was but Sanheim and York went out with TK and they had a strong shift as well

Unless one of the two is Makar I’m good w two forwards. You would rather have York and Sanheim or York and Tip? I’m going w the guy w the nasty wrist shot

TO does at times play two d in OT cause they are searching for answers there. I watch them all the time. Again it does not work for us, but not sure how it is an archaic strategy as it’s actually the opposite. Most teams started w 2 O out there and still do today. Using 2 D is actually a forward thinking and newer strategy. It just does not work.

Just cause Torts is cranky doesn’t mean everything he does is archaic. His system is predicated on forchecking and accountability. Not sure why that’s a problem. He is not a Roger Nielsen trap guy. Never really has been.

He is not a perfect coach by any means, but a good fit for this team at this time.

You literally just stated you would not be up in arms if it was York and Sanheim. Come on now.

Who cares. Pretty sure no one here really wants two d out there. Point is if we already have one d out there, there is not an another d on this team that should play over Tip or Frost for example in OT. Hopefully that makes sense..

I thought he missed time due to the passing of his Grandfather, but perhaps there was a healthy scratch somewhere. He needs a vacation. This guy is as bad as Yandle right now and I thought that would be an impossible feat to accomplish for anyone.
- Phillywhiteout

He either got scratched or he got hurt and during that time, I believe it was his grandmother that passed that extended that time.

Watch the Torts’ presser before the game.

https://youtu.be/MLnKXDf1MX4

He was asked about Tony DeAngelo and Torts seems happy with him due to his offense, which to me is insane. I feel like the guy who asked the question did I really good job by bringing it up. At what point do you realize, you shouldn’t put him in so many defensive situations??

So it's two shifts. Again, two shifts or the larger sample of 1-7. Want to go for three? Same answer.

There is no such thing as a hockey system predicated on accountability. What defensive coverage does he play? Neutral zone checking. What breakout system? Neutral zone regroups? PK coverage. Let's talk systems.

I love how you try and take things so literally, it’s just two shifts right. I didn’t breakdown every shift of every OT man, just the most recent two I recall

You don't have to take anything in any way. It's not difficult to look at 1-7 and think it's time for a.change.

You stated what his system is based on. It's a cliche and it's not a part of hockey systems. I gave examples of the various sets in hockey systems. If we're going to talk systems. Lets talk systems.

What would you do with Tony D? Any plan or or course of action?

Him and Sanheim do not work at all.

- hello it's me 2050

I think they have younger players that they should give a look. If they can move Angelo this season (without providing additional assets) then they should. Buy him out this offseason if he cannot be moved.
