it wasn't that much of a "no brainer" imho, Romanov is a good player, it turned out to be a good trade for both teams. - Pat1993
yeas, but with all the kids coming up on LD, and considering Romanov will never be more than a #4... no brainer imo |

Dach and Monty playing like they want to get traded.
Solid game, overall.
A good loss. |

Always good to see the Habs lose - but - certainly don't want them losing too much...

You have to suck balls in the NHL before being a contender. It's an eternal cycle.
Habs have been chasing a playoffs spot for too long while not being a contender after their 1993 cup. 2021 was more a fairy tale than anything else. I really liked that run but they crashed real hard a few months after that (no more Price, no more Weber and no more Danault). |

It was a valiant effort.
Really like how Dach's progressed. At the start of the season he was purely a perimeter meter, but now he goes to the net at the right times. |

while I despise the bruins, you gotta admit they're an example of sustainability... they've won a cup in 2011, and 12 years later they're still in the mix, being literally the best team in the league right now. those (frank)ers. |

Missed the playoffs 2 season in there but also lost 2 Cup Final series. Very consistent with Bergeron as their leader after Chara. |

they've been very good at drafting too, despite not necessarily having picks in the top 5 or whatever.

their core is stable and on great contracts, that's the key piece. |

he came back from injury after being out a month, played one game, allowed 5 goals in Laval and got called up after Allen got injured, Habs were not ready to play him, he was just a safety net with the latest recall.
He is not having a great season either, lots of up and downs in Laval |

he won't get better by not playing either
and I know monty is the hot hand right now and all you said about primeau is true, but running a goalie into the ground is never a good idea.
Pretty much what happened las season as well with our goalies. That's how injuries happen. |

yes and when you manage things properly like that, players want to play for you
(Hall and Linhdolm). They lose Rask? No problem, here comes the next guy to do as good. |

let's see if the Habs core players will agree to keep their cap # reasonable to allow to team to have a strong core. Marchand, Bergeron, Pastrnak all took less money at one point to keep the team together.
Will Caufield, Guhle, Fantilli and Slaf all agree to keep their cap # reasonable? |

it sure could help things if the (frank)ing salary cap could go up as planned.

so if Caufield signs a similar deal as Suzuki did, both those contracts could be looking really good in a few years... |

that's the plan, try to keep the core at a reasonable numner.
Roomer is the Caufield side said no to 8yrsx7M...let's see what's the number that works for everyone |
