they lose to Buffalo at home and he's been placed on IR
I think St Louis is just about officially sellers - jimbro83
(Back to making this a "hockey" blog again.)
I agree Jim since if past history is any indication, Blues' GM Doug Armstrong would only become a seller if feeling his already constructed contending team cannot make an extended postseason run, in contrast to just reaching it. But Buch. placed just on IR for now is a huge loss to replace equally & cost wise with his team also currently outside of the playoffs. Hence the swirling Tarasenko rumors for one.
In 2018/19 off his major Summer 2018 acquisition of star center Ryan O'Reilly, his expected contending, but right out of the gate, struggling Blues went from having the NHL's overall worst record Jan. 3rd, to defeating the Bruins in the Cup Finals. He refused to sell his vets through the deadline, though only acquiring just one player by it from the Ducks then, in former NYR d'man Michael Del Zotto.
But in having to give in order to get, Armstrong did so prior to that season to acquire O'Reilly from the Sabres for a 5 piece demanded package comprised of a 2019 1st Rdr., a 2021 2nd Rdr., Centers Vladimir Sobotka & Patrik Berglund, and a top forward prospect just happened to be named TAGE THOMPSON currently 5th NHL ranked overall in points with 66 this season (33-G & 33-A).

I recall Buffalo getting murdered for that trade - Slimtj100
Little did many know about the potential back in 2018 of top prospect only then in forward Tage Thompson, who I believe was primarily a center then, but with that now being his secondary position when needed, in contrast to wing.

Was that a core memory that shaped who he is today? - picklerick
One of my favorite Jimmy/TJ stories is when one of them mentioned that they ate at Burger King on holidays (Thanksgiving). (might be remembering wrong)
