If he signs here he plays immediately and he can pretty much assume a spot on a roster next year (if not sooner). He could go to Roch and get a nice long playoff run (hopefully). He would also be part of a very young group. Sure, he could go anywhere and wait until next season to get going.

If memory serves me there were rumors that he had ties to another organization out west.

He could of done all that over the last 4 years with this team..

He'll certainly be motivated.

Eventually …. Comrie had to play. UPL I think played twice in the last 7 days and anderson 1 time

Anderson is a good go. Since he needs 6 months between starts. (Just kidding. 7 days apart)

And UPL has been playing a decent amount.

Well, sure. The team was also often a train wreck during part of that time. Also, it isn't like this guy is guaranteed to be an NHL player. Staying in college wasn't a bad thing for his development.

Anderson top-10 in sv% at .916

He is doing his job and he is doing it very well.

UPL has been great since after Thanksgiving.

That 9-game losing streak was the outlier this season. Thank god we recovered from it psychologically.

My biggest complaint is bottom-6 scoring. We need these guys like Quinn, Peterka, Jost, Krebs to start being reliable for a goal once every few games, as it stands, Jost has been good defensively and Krebs is out there having fun and building up his body playing on the 4th line.

I still want to see more out of Mittelstadt, too.

We are a threat to score every night. Teams actually have to worry about us scoring. I am not so down on the goaltending right now. They are keeping us in games and that’s all we need right now.

Was he ready physically?

Mentally?

Did he maybe want to grow up and have a life at college?

Are team was sh!t then, looking better as every game passes.

His interview at camp in the offseason sounded positive.

Me saying he would be a lock in our 6 almost immediately doesn't mean hes coming here. You saying "well he could of already been here" Doesn't mean he isn't.

It's like Wayne Gretzky always says about Grant Fuhr, he made the saves we needed.

It’s like the Beatles always said about Ringo Star:

Is he ugly? Yes but can he play the drums? No.

I dont think its on the kids to score more, they're learning and getting chances which is great (see Cozens last year to this year). They'll turn the corner I have no doubt.

So if we use $90m and spread it as
G = $7m
D = $27m
F = $56m
As a rough starting position for a generic group, then perhaps F's would be distributed as
-L1 = $23m
-L2 = $17m
-L3 = $ 9m
-L4 = $ 6m
-13th = $1m

D pairings
-1st = $15m
-2nd = $ 9m
-3rd = $ 3m

G
-Starter = $5m
-Backup = $2m

Obviously, those are very fluid depending on what contracts they have committed to.

This is a pretty good split IMO.

Obviously certain seasons, we can take a bit from the goalie position for example and add it to the 4th line or wherever seems fitting.

L4 = 6 million
Each forward making roughly 2 million.

Currently one of our 4th line forwards is making 2.2
1 making 6+
1 at 850,000 in krebs?

We're pushing 9 million.

Next season
21 - 3 million
19 - 850,000 ish
Other guy - 2.4 million x 3

Just slightly over the 6 million estimate.

I would also like to discuss paying per position
Center for example
Tage 7+
Cozens identical deal
Jost 2.2
Krebs 850,000

Maybe 18 million at the center position?

Like baller said, 12.5 for mcdavid alone

He has a opportunity here that he probably doesn't get as quickly even if he signed in LA or Anaheim.

LA looks like a horrible opportunity for him. Thats a dog fight in their D-corps IMO.

But that's where his Pa is?

His Dad's in Anaheim now, and don't see a immediate opportunity there.
