We all talk about management not giving Barzal the wingers he needs. How about management not wasting Sorokin's ability to backstop a championship team.

This kid (27 yrs) has 14 shutouts in 114 NHL games. In this day and age that is pretty impressive.

There are components here to build from. Management needs to make it happen.

Power Play 0 for 4 last night. I believe Islanders are 0 for 15 or 16 now?

Agreed. Streaks bought up the same point not long ago and I would think(hope) that’s managements strategy. Bag this season. Get a decent pick(s) this summer. Make some intelligent signings/trades in the off-season and throw everything at it next season. It would be an absolute waste of prime years in regards to Sorokin. It couldn’t be more apparent this is a goaltender you win it all with.

Lameriello has not shown in any sense, with us, he’s capable of doing this but I think this should be the strategy. We have some pretty good foundational players in place already we just need to add/subtract accordingly. I know I’m simplifying this making it sound easy but this guy is a hof GM it’s time he starts acting like one with us. Sick of hearing that and not seeing it.

I mentioned the same thing about not wasting Sorokin. Lou has not shown he can add the proper pieces though and the Islanders may have missed their chance.

The Nelson - Lee - Palmieri line looked good last night, accounting for both Isles goals. Worth keeping them together.

Palmieri seems to have come back trying to prove, that in fact, he’s not Ladd.

Good for him nice to see but I have embraced the tank at this point for this season. We don’t need you disrupting that Palmieri.

Well, yeah, there's that.

I was trying to look for the silver lining in last night's unwanted regulation victory which dropped us to 12th place, barely ahead of Detroit.

Agreed, but I noticed he hasn’t written a blog for any of the other five teams he writes for on this site.

PP is 3 for last 63. I've been keeping a running count.

Shocking and especially with the shooters the Islander have on this team.

It does. Under those circumstances, they should reconfigure the PP around 2 d-men, and let one hang back to prevent breakaways/shorties.

Just do the complete opposite of what they are doing know and they will have a real good PP. Problem solved.
