All of these discussions just to have Lou hang on before naming Chris Lamoriello as his successor.

Probably. I don’t want someone who is ancient but I would want someone with a little more of a resume. He may be a great GM right out of the gate but I like our odds with someone else. But it will more then likely play out the way you said. I’m sure Lameriello had some sort of agreement that his son would replace him. How it plays out who knows the Islanders are the CIA of the NHL.

Would not shock if Lou stays President and Chris takes over GM. Maybe it will be like.

Who knows maybe his kid would have Lou’s good qualities along with a bit of a younger outlook that would jive better with todays NHL. Either way I still want someone with a good track record and experience. Who that is I have no idea.

You never know Cpt. Chris could do a good job. If Chris does have brothers, I would say No to going fishing.
I would like Dean Lombardi as someone with a track record of winning. I thought there were reports Dean turned the job down and then the Committee was hired? My dream would be Neil Smith back with the Islanders leading them to a Cup after the mess of his first hire. No way this is happening though.
1) Trade Mayfield and a pick to Vancouver for Boeser. They desperately need RD and can pay him next year. We desperately need a RW that shoots, and Boeser is capable of doing that. What’s more, the Canucks are shopping him, and he wants out.
2) Trade Beauvillier for whatever. Maybe try to do a swap by including the 2023 1st, provided the Islanders are picking outside the top 5.
3) Trade Varlamov for whatever is available.
4) Attempt to do the same with Johnston.
5) Extend Fasching with a slight raise. Same for Parise if possible.

Watch til the end to actually see what happened - eichiefs9
Oof! Reminds me of the time Marty Brodeur knocked the puck in his own net ....... in the 2003 Stanley Cup Finals, no less! Appleby is following in some good footsteps.

Who here truly believes this team is a playoff contender and can make a good run in the playoffs.
Personally I think this is a bubble team and that they would have to add a few really good pieces to make a contender in this years playoffs.
That being said, I would maximize my assets. Procure draft and trade capital. Hit free agency hard. - Nfdbulldawg
I said it before this team if it went in healthy could make some noise in the playoffs especially if Lou added some offense. Problem is I don’t see either happening.
Neil gave me a ticket for spotlight club and a seat 10 rows behind Habs bench. Just met trots. I work for ubs and was given access to ubs box so I got lucky with all this.
