I think Boldy has really started to feel the pressure of him being expected to be the other superstar on the roster. I guess this is really the 1 thing that bothers me with Guerin. He claims that guys HAVE to earn it down in Iowa and he only wants them with the big club only when they can be put in a spot to succeed. But Rossi was never once given a chance to center the skilled players. As much as I am enjoying the work and games of Dewar and Shaw, they are not Kaprizov or Boldy.

This team is going to be some rough cap space trouble (even with the cap increasing more than expected) over the next couple of years. That means, they are gonna have to go lean on some salaries. Bring Rossi back up now and play him with Boldy, for MORE than 1 game. Try 15-20 games. And while they are at it, might as well try to catch lightning in a bottle and bring Sammy Walker up to play wing on that line too. I'm ok with Steel centering KK and Zucc until Hartman gets back. I just wish the Wild could combine Steel and Hartman into 1 single player.

Guerin says he is looking for top 6 forward in a trade right now as well. But the only things he has to trade are low trade assets like Dumba and Greenway. Even a package with those 2, say a 3rd Rd pick and Ryan O'Rourke is not going to move the needle for many, if any, teams. And what to do with Flower....that I have no clue on. Maybe it time that the Wild look to adjust their goaltending philosophies. Wallstedt appears to be in the same kind of funk right now that Fleury is in.

I don't know what they could trade to even out taking on Boeser. He's at $6.5 mil for 2 more years after this season. Yeah, you could send Dumba back to balance salaries for this year, but the next 2 years make that a lot more difficult. And it's not what the Wild really need. They need a better than average C. I have a sneaking suspicion that Walker is going to do just fine skating on a line with Boldy. Honestly, he might even turn into Fiala-lite, just needs to put on some man muscles now, as he is kinda light right now. And then Rossi (after 1 more week) centering them, that SHOULD be a pretty good line. Should being the key word.

I know that Guerin wants to find a true C, but cost-wise, I don't think they have the cap-space in the next 2 years to have that. What might help, if you are set on Boeser, sending Dumba and Greenway back. At least Greenway's contract has 2 more years after this season, making it easier to to afford Boeser for the 3 season left on the contract.
