Lets also not forget that if he would probably still be playing major junior as he is only 20. If Bowman was still GM, he would do what he did with Bovquist and Dach and he would be struggling in the big show. A lot of people on this board kept saying Dach was rushed, now that they are taking a slower approach with Reichel, he is now a failure?

TBF, I don't think Lou is taking this stance. But, the rest of the BOD? (frank)ing-A, Bubba.....
I have occasionally jokingly referred to Reichel as Sikura II, but let's give the kid until he's at least 22 before we write him off, eh? Especially if the new management likes the kid's attitude, since they don't have any "we drafted him" attachment to him. |

Wasn’t meant for Lou, but the members of the BOD that just takes a position to complain. |

Things are good here. Patiently waiting for the next Cup contender. The actuarial tables tell me I have about 25 years; I hope they get it done by then! |

We have about the same timeline, question is what will I remember by then |

How do you rank Hawk Dmen? (Not that any of them are anything special.)
1st S. Jones
2nd J. Johnson
Tied for 3rd Roos, McCabe, Murphy, Tinordi
….
….
….
7th C. Jones (Gus II)

Never get tired of seeing Hawks pull up at their own blue line and turn the puck over. |

Hell, by then I can have the caretaker play games from 2010-2015; it'll all be new to me at that point.
Actually, some might say I'm there already.... |

All tied for last....
How many of them would make the dynasty roster? |

They say Toews is sick. Probably sick of being a Hawk. Maybe a trade to Winnipeg makes him well.

Seth and maybe Jack on the 3rd pair. The Hawks did not always have a great 3rd pair. |

Goal scorers elevate the puck or bank it in off the post. The Hawks have at least 8 forwards that aim for the goalies chest and feel just getting a shot on goal is great. |

After the late hit Reichel skating with one eye over his shoulder. I am ok with that. |

Yes Zach - Get well soon. But you know as well as I - if this was 5 years ago you would be saying you are fighting the flu bug.

I actually don't think the Dach trade was completely a management / GM exclusive decision.
There seemed to be a point last season when Dacher just seemed different out there, sort of sarcastic and outwardly emotionally not holding his back his emotions/frustartions.
You think in the exit meetings Dach was asked if maybe could play wing? (...after all the hype the next Toews...).
It is a lot easier for Montreal to ask as his second team I think...and I didn't even know he was on a wing.
So the question about Dach may be "If Bowman was still GM, he would do what he did with Boqvist and Dach and he would be struggling in the big show.
Well, when you are in your second year (or 3rd in Boqvist case, right???), they are definitely not going to junior, because they become TARGETS for those junior players.
I am much more curious is what IF StanBo HAD acquired goalie Matt Murray because I am watching him play lights out against Dallas 44 shots and he is sponging rebounds, and it would have changed a lot.
I don't think you can consider Reichel as EVER showing he had the prop skills that ARE in place with Dach's game despite the dot and shot.
I will give Reichel the benefit of doubt that time helps refine him, but to me he is more like the Swiss Miss Phillipp Kurachev who was a big wussy in the Quebec league who I have repeated read here here how he looks good to "you."
I thought tonight was one of his best performances as a pro, BUT the stats tell you a whole lot about this night. He was the 2nd sighted forward behind Kane in total on ice game, and even +/- BUT no shots, not hits, no blocks.
It is difficult for me to see Reichel as not similar as he was minus one, with no short, no hits no blocks.
I am not going to throw Dawson Mercer as a better alternative when the selected mostly because he is playing on a team with TWO NUMBER ONE OVERALL picks and that means talent in NEW JERSEY is in place. |

The last blog had someone mentioning Brayden Yager as the hawks future centre.
I just wanted ot say I love the kid but see him as a right winger and the Hawks will be looking for right wingers. Sure plays centre, but he is about as light as Little Frankie Nazar, and maybe as quick, and I just think that you are see reaches for big forwards based on their durability and ability had girth & muscle to work the entire ice and have gas in the tank to impact as a goal scorer/attacker.
I have him sitting in slot 9.
(i don't see me writing it in ink at nine slot, but someone will get a really special player with him.
In pick #8 I have Callum Ritchie as a kid who is still developing (like Reichel), but really has a ton of upside and professionalism and dedication that led me to think there really is something there.
I am starting to thin k Will Smith looks like a guy I will consider raising above others.
And don't think that Davisdon is going to Sweden this year to see Leo Carlsson just to say hello; he probably wants to ascertain if he is an NHL center as opposed to a impact right wing.
I know that the Hawks will probably be the king they would love a centre with dacha out the door and "Reichel officially no longer a centre." |

Reichel most likely will not amount to much… another stanbow shot in the dark…
Glad to see some progress with some of KD’s picks from 2021..
I really hope Kane agrees to something so because I have a feeling that he’ll stay here and play with absolutely no skill and sacrifice a year to burn the hawks- look at his post game comments about the devils granted they had top five picks the last couple years…

Seems like a fair assessment for a well regarded 20 yo, after getting into his 12th NHL game. |

Considering Blowman’s long and extensive history of drafting and developing talent, especially in the first round—- yeah I’d think it’s a fair and highly accurate assessment |
