Well we got the win, however we have been out shot in 2 of the last 4 games.

Could this be attributed to the couple injuries on the 4th line or teams making adjustments limit the Devils skating through the neutral zone with speed?

Meh, that's hockey. You can't outshoot everybody in every game you play, and you can't play your best every single night. That's how how this league goes, you'll win games you have no business winning and you'll lose games you have no business losing. It all balances out eventually.

They played by far their worst game of the season and still came out with the 2 points, and that's growth from this team. If this kind of game happened the last few years before we probably get ran out of the building and lose 5-1 or something like that.

My absolute biggest concern for this team right now is that they have consistently not shown up in the 1st period. It hasn't hurt them this year yet but it's gonna catch up to them at some point and bite them in the ass. Gotta start starting on time, especially with the schedule coming up later this month.

This feels like the most lackluster win.. almost like a loss. We won by a goal against a crummy team and looked bad doing it. I know it happens but that was a really rough game.

Agreed. Atleast Akira continued to look good. Thats one of those games you just 'burn the tape' and forget about it, moving onto the next one. Still got the two points though which is the most important thing. Hopefully we come out flying against Chicago.

Side note. We struggled and still got 3/4 points this week against the Preds and Flyers, meanwhile, they both beat the Isles in regulation. So that's nice lol

Sure it was an ugly win but these are games we used to lose in the past. Also helped that Schmid was solid in net.

hopefully nobody. his underlying numbers are really bad and have gotten worse every year of his career. there are much better options available out there we could focus on.

Agreed. I want no part of Boeser. I remember when the Boeser rumors startes popping up back at the deadline last year and again in the summer before he signed his extension in VAN, Todd wrote multiple pieces about why trading for Boeser would be a huge mistake. And everything he brought up has only gotten worse this year somehow lol.

When Palat comes back I'd like to see McLeod sit. I think he's the weakest of the forward group right now. I'd also like to see Zetterlund play with Hischier again and Haula moved down. It's the same thing as last year where we're overvaluing having a centerman on the ice to take draws. I know the stats show that Haula has gotten really unlucky this season and should have a lot more goals scored but would nice to try other players out with Hughes, and when Palat returns he's a natural fit there too.

Freaking Hughes, Hischier, Bratt. What a trio. Homegrown wholesome goodness.

In fantasy im trying to package Hughes for B Tkachuk. League includes hits and FW. Tkachuk covers every stat. I think Hughes will average 20pts and 20+/- and 10ppp more a season, but gives me no FW from the center slot in yahoo, and Tkachuk gets them from the wing, plus outhits Hughes 200-20 for the season lol.
Would you do that swap in a keeper league? Hughes and a 1st he won’t take. Hughes and Scheifele + a 1st he won’t take. Might package Quin Hughes and a 1st with Jack. Or Forsberg with Jack and a 1st. I have a deep team but a 2 for 1 with Tkachuk coming my way would help.

Bratt has to be the most efficient player in the game - he plays so little and still gets the stats. I wonder if there is a metric his camp can use for a new contract that illustrates his efficiency.

Dude that is a massive amount to give up. Not sure why he wouldn’t accept that.

I know lol. There's really only 1 Tkachuk, a guy that covers all the stats.. so he wants like a top tier guy like McDavid/Matthew/Drai, etc. But still. It's like Tkachuk is potting 100pts, +30, 30ppp etc. But he does get a ton of shots and hits and some FW to go with the points..

Tkachuk by himself is like 1.5 players since he gives you all the hits/penalty minutes as well as top 5 player production. Can't blame somebody for not wanting to trade especially in a keeper league.

I’ve never done a keeper league before, I would definitely be reluctant to make major trades. That being said I think I would accept your offer.

Anyone else not adjusted to this team being #1 in the league standings right now?
