my 6-2 CGY prediction was not that far off

good for Allen though, he struggled lately with a new baby at home, I guess it's easier for him to play on the road then at home.

Anyone who has kids knows how (frank)ed up it is to not sleep for months.

Imagine getting that first full night sleep on the road.

He played better? You don't say?

so Allen at home and Monty on the road for a lottery pick or Allen on the road and Monty at home for the 12th overall pick? tough call

Even if you don't feed the kid, you still wake up during the night. Several times.

I used to get up, get the baby and bring it to the dead tired girlfriend since she was breastfeeding and I was mostly useless.

He's also been concussed at least 5 times in his short NHL career. 2of them being from major, vicious hits.

Maybe it's slowing him down.

Why not try to retain him.

They'll be on the upswing next year.

sell high...as Pat says.

Team is still a few years away from being good, Monahan is 28yrs old, coming from serious hip injuries, UFA next summer, expected to ask for 6yrsx6M...I would wait and continue building the pipeline.

given his injury history, I doubt any team would be giving him 6 years right away, he'll sign for 2 or 3 years at first imho.
