You wouldn't believe the denial and no clue about their losses and only remember their wins.

A couple buddies owned a pool hall/lounge for a while. Had slots put in. When they had them put in the guys told them that if someone played like a regular day job 5 days a week, 8 hours a day for an entire year. You would lose 112k per year, that includes winnings. Yet they would have regulars that were in there at least 4 or 5 hours a night and would always claim "they were up". They said these people were not, they were thousands down monthly.

Ya slots are a born to lose option. We have quite a few here that say they are 'up huge' but in reality they are usually way down for the year.

I try to stick to cash and only spend what I can. If I am down at the races I just leave. That's the discipline. Online is tougher because with credit cards you can just keep going lol. Dangerous. The Horses are great because you really only have yourself to blame if you don't handicap the races properly. Some people just come bet numbers but that's a long term loss. If you actually sit down with the program for a few hours and find the 'funny ones' as Dad used to put it, you can hit some long shots that pay. But if you only bet favorites (known as chalk betting) then the return are low. Anyone can bet favorites and make a little cash but in reality favorites only win 30% of the time in Horse Racing. It's finding those middle favorites and long-shots that's tough. But if you read the program carefully it's all there...just takes time to find it lol.

Sports betting is hit/miss. Once the seasons have started and you a bit of a pattern to go on it's a bit easier but still very tough to get pick 4's or pick 6 games. Usually one game screws you and you are done.

Avs know how to win, not last night but in general, Canucks are still learning, it took the avs along time like most young teams.
- Bettmanhatesus

Yep as Boudreau said positive steps were made in the win over the Avs. Patience.

I was kind of the same, more cash game than tournament because I didn't like the variance and ICM in tournament poker. I made about 20k myself and used it to buy my first car.

When I hit that late pick 4 at Gulfstream Park this past Sunday for $885 it was a bit of a fluke as they cancelled the card at Woodbine most likely due to weather. I wasn't even looking at the program just went of the pro handicappers picks and it hit. Ticket cost $10 but that's decent return. Always better with house money...

Some guy on Twitter asking if they are cool or an abomination. Think the answer is pretty clear.

Agreed, but at 1st glance, it does seem appropriate, as it looks like a fireman running away from the Canucks fire

I never bet more than 3 games, even three is hard. I usually do single or double, it’s incremental wins but at the end of the day when you’ve won 8/10 of them your up nicely.

Well there a couple of posters in here that might be in the running. One in particular stands out above the rest. Pretty sure we all know who that might be. No need to embarrass him/her at this point

New blog is up, looking at where the Canucks stand on U.S. Thanksgiving.

There's a glimmer of hope — and that may not be what most of the fanbase wants to hear...

Carefull, might stir up some demons in here lol. Why isn’t this on TV or is it? I doubt is. Why not show it and let people decide.
