Everyone that I know that gambles on sports, or at a casino etc says they win more than they lose, yet gambling sites make billions of $ per year. Makes you go hmmm.

You wouldn't believe the denial and no clue about their losses and only remember their wins.

A couple buddies owned a pool hall/lounge for a while. Had slots put in. When they had them put in the guys told them that if someone played like a regular day job 5 days a week, 8 hours a day for an entire year. You would lose 112k per year, that includes winnings. Yet they would have regulars that were in there at least 4 or 5 hours a night and would always claim "they were up". They said these people were not, they were thousands down monthly.

Too cartooney for me

I didn’t mind the reverse retros but I also like the skate logo too. Stick in rink is too boring and the orca is weird for a team named the Canucks.

I was a money player when I played poker. You play other people, not the house so they only take a rake. A portion of each pot.

Now when I say money player, I couldn't play poker for a living. Some months I made a few hundred others thousands... I had discipline with my buy ins. I would never buy in more than twice... if that cut my day early so be it... rarely did that ever happen though. I had a separate bank account for my bank roll so it was easy to track.

I showed up for a river charter a day early in Fort Nelson a few years back. I killed the day in my motel room by playing online poker. I didnt have a credit card at the time to replenish my account and only had a $1.75 in it. By the end of the day I was up over $800. Started with a $1 tourney and worked my way up to higher tables.

Funny you should say that...

I got bored of poker exactly when I got obsessed with Fly fishing. I had already been doing it for years but I hit a fall season on Dragon that really got me hooked. I had only been a spring fly fishermen until then. It became all months with no ice after that.

Just saw the highlights.

Karma was Ruby complaining about every single play about one team (the one he cheers for) and nothing about the other team (the one he doesn't cheer for) even though they made lots of mistakes as well.

Then the team that was complained about the most won the game. That's the karma part.

Avs know how to win, not last night but in general, Canucks are still learning, it took the avs along time like most young teams.

There's a 6'3" right hand defender, Viliam Kmec. Is he any good?

Hudson Thornton was someone I would have liked for a late round pick last season.

I played a lot of poker, both live and online. I won an online tourney for about 18K US and went through those winnings within a couple of weeks. It was excessive, trying to jump to another level. I lost about 10K online I figure all told.

Live I was more successful, probably won over 15K. Regardless, relatively cheap entertainment for the amount of time I played........thousands of hours.

I'm what they call a winning player.

I was kind of the same, more cash game than tournament because I didn't like the variance and ICM in tournament poker. I made about 20k myself and used it to buy my first car.

Yeah I played mostly cash live and mostly tournaments online. I'll still play the odd Sunday Storm.

He’s good defensively, Thornton, wheatcroft, ziemmer, height are the ones to watch, solid goaltending, Ty young has looked good in the games I’ve seen him play.

I've got at least a dozen co-workers that are doing anywhere from 2-10k a month.

All are breaking even or winning most months. A few only work so that they can show the bank a pay stub and because a steady check to pay bills if they go on a long losing streak.

- manvanfan

Ya I have a few friends here that are in the 10-30K range per month. One guy owns a car lot so he has cash to burn but man that's alot of scratch. A few years back we were playing Mens Hockey and he had close to 30K riding on all the college football games at the time. Crazy swings man and he was checking his phone every 5 mins for updates losing his mind lol

Bob McKenzie, on TSN Overdrive

It is a league spinning in mediocrity.

He isn't wrong.
