not to linger on the subject, but were you able to get back some of your stuff, or was everything ruined..?

edit: just noticed your other post, that sucks man.

ah wow sorry mate, this sucks bad !

When I was looking in 2007 in eliminated condos right away (even if it would have been much simpler in the middle of a separation) as I ddint want to have to deal with that comitee... if I want to be honnest didnt want to deal with other people

- Xizord

i always wanted to live in a nice condo. i never really considered this kind of thing but i still kind of prefer condo living. it probably helps that my association isn't really a pain in the ass like some others can be (if we get out heater ducts and chimneys cleaned out once a year and fill out a little census paper they pretty much leave us alone). also my HOA fee is pretty low and only just went up after 5 years and it only went up $10.

it's right near my work and it was remodeled a few years before i bought it so it was a no brainer for me. i walked in for the first time and knew i was buying it.

believe it or not, i did manage to get the hats and if they don't stink like smoke i'm keeping them.

i know you guys are gonna say it's a sign but the only one that got left behind was the leafs one because it got wet and dirty. i didn't like they way it fit anyway and driving people nuts reshopping for it will be worth it.

there was a company that i gave half my clothing to, all my sneakers, and a bunch of electronics. they try to save them and if they can't you just put them on the list for the insurance money.

they've already sent me a bunch of money to buy clothes and stuff. then i submitted a list of furniture and stuff and they sent be a bunch more money. i already bought a new bed, kitchen table and chairs, and pots and pans and stuff like that so i'll have it all (or have it all delivered) on the 1st when i move into the apartment.

nah, that'd be impossible. it's okay though. i bought a table and chairs that fits the kitchen better and i'll be able to buy a better bedframe and stuff like that.

after the condo's insurance has their stuff together they will be ready to rebuild it to original spec. then my insurance company picks up for the upgrades that i had like the wraparound granite kitchen counter, walk in shower, flooring, double vanity in the bathroom, etc.

if they find fault then my insurance company goes after their insurance company for subrogation. then this would turn into one long, all expenses paid vacation for me. but i'm not holding out a lot of hope for that, just enough hope to remember that it's a possibility.

Gotta say, the timeline estimate seems a bit long. Having worked in a condo, usually the mold/restoration crew come in, do what needs to be done within 3 weeks (floors and underpad removed, trim, and about 3 feet of drywall from floor up in the damaged areas), then whatever else needs to be done is completed after. Makes me wonder if insurance are dragging their heels, or if there was extra work the condo needed to do that was exposed by the damage, and they're using the incident to do needed repairs ahead of schedule. If the latter is the case, then yeah, property management and the board need to put the work out for tender, which can take months on it's own.

Sorry man, the situation sucks. Hopefully you can get settled somewhere soon.

thanks.

i think those time estimates were the "worst case scenario" and they just wanted to tell us that so if it's less time we're happy. i do have to admit that the other side of the building got it pretty bad. you can see the sky through their ceilings and all. it was a really big fire. and i stood there watching. it had to be 2 hours or more before they got it under control and then it started again and they had to put it out again.

Great write up K!

At one stage, 7 or 8 players had specifically said they didn't want to be next to Subban as he was preventing them from concentrating prior to the game.

And people wonder..
