im hoping this flyers team simply does not have the horses to score 4 unanswered regardless of how the pens play, but man it would have been nice to see a good PP there. no pressure, just show a willingness to shoot. perfect tic tac toe tap in or bust.

We only lost by five. And we almost scored a goal, too.

Even with Petry added, Letang is still the problem. He now insists on playing down low forcing one of Sid/Geno/Jake to play up high...not the optimal spot for any of them.

And holy poop. 4th line with 3 goals now.

- Pags

agreed. he does bring a good skating element to help establish the zone and he goes east to west very well to open up lanes, but he doesnt use them and like you said too often drifts in down low.

good to see the fourth getting rewarded on the scoreboard.

Oh, they've needed to bottom out for a few years now. And clean sweep the front office, too.

I just don't see the problem with ties and two teams, who battled hard and evenly but couldnt get it done, get a point each. I don't think a team that loses in any way should get a point.

As far as the 3v3 and shootout goes... I'm always entertained when I watch it. I would never want to see a playoff game settled by it, but it's fun to watch. JMO.

Dear Lord if the 3v3 and the shootout were in place for those early 90's teams...would have been amazing theater.

Would have been awesome and most likely short lived. Other teams would have cried enough to do away with it like they did in the 50's to the Habs PP.

While I think the 3 on 3 is gimmicky I do agree it can be entertaining... And at least it still kind of looks like the team sport that was played the 60 mins before....kind of... I'd still rather ties and a point each, than 3 on 3, or a shootout though.

Was me too, but I was 38 and in dire need of AA and anger management classes that year.

The only way to make my voice heard is by not giving them money. So no watching them, no buying anything, no going to games, etc.

The best thing I can do as fan is to hope they suck to an unprecedented level that forces change.

I'd say Trots tore them a new one in the 2nd intermission... Not very often you'll see a Torts team just lie down and die in a game going like this was before the 3rd period.

That is my approach to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Haven't watched a game or gone to one since Cutch left.

I do this with the Pirates. Difference is the Pirates don't even try. The Flyers are trying, but most of their NHL caliber players are hurt. They likely wouldn't be a playoff team if those guys were healthy, but they wouldn't be this bad.

Somehow the players think they need to score more goals for some reason.

Just ok I guess. At least there's no blue.
