Mitts lowers the tide. You can't have olofsson playing with him. At least olo has a purpose. Casey's offense comes with overwhelming downside. - TheSabresTaco
They don't make decisions quick enough there still evaluating Mitts. |

Very circular argument, if you want to argue who hurts the other more. I'd say VO.

If you could send them both to Siberia I’d be all for it.
Kulich and Savoie can take their spots as early as next year.
Krebs sitting for Jost and Mitts isn’t a good look

4 different line combos but the same players on multiple combos.
Team defence is the issue there |

I hope you all had a fat Thanksgiving. I damn sure did. The giblet dressing and the gravey went of the chain this year. People could not get enough.
I will be happy to get back to the arena tonight for the Devils. This will be a fast, fast game. Lindy will have the Devils playing defene to generate offense as all his great teams did. If we get lazy with passes the Devils will be on breakaways like the Vegas game. I'm very interested to see how Lindy plays our top line. I have not watched a Devils game yet this year. I'm sure Lindy has all his forwards doing their part in their own zone, but I don't know who or if they have a shut down line. Advantage to us at home with the last change.
I'm not looking forward to Friday night all whites. Please, for the love of god, get some gold pants and buckets for those white jerseys or just add blue pants.
We know the top line will score. We know Dahlin will get a point.
Which goalie, and how does he play?
How many Skinners tonight? We've seen 10/10 Skinners recently.
Is Quinn going to go on a heater?
When will Krebs have a breakthrough game?
Does Sammy's presence continue to add the Mike Grier attitude? This may be very important. Someone, a player or coach, said in an interview Sammy really holds teammates accountable on the bench. He makes sure the right intensity is there. That could be HUGE for this group.
How good will the Devils goaltending be? It has been superb.
Sabres 3, Devils 2. A barn burner. Great saves, fasst play, good play.
Skinner, Tage, Quinn game winner - lacaprup

They both only score on the PP so they're kind of the same.... Take out Olo's empty netters and he has what 6 goals, all on the PP?
Mitts is by far the better player. At least he can play the PK with some success |

Or, you could see that they used a minimum threshold of 30 minutes of TOI and realize that it shows that Quinn-Cozens-Peterka have had good impacts although a small sample size and that the results are skewed (not necessarily that they are the best line in hockey)
But hey critical thinking isn’t for everyone. |

we would be better off with a third line of asplund-krebs-weissbach |

Oh, so what you're saying is rather than trying to use this near pointless graph to imply the search for a second line is over, it should never have been shared at all except for a chuckle. It's very much akin to voting Rasmus Asplund a Selke share.

It is pointless to point out that Quinn-Cozens-Peterka have been quite possibly our best all around forward line since constructed ?
Regression is expected but it’s definitely possible that this can be the current and future Sabres second line for a long time considering that all three of those guys have much more room to grow

I like advanced stats as a part of the equation in formulating an opinion.
The Expected vs Actual is revealing. When Expected is higher than Actual, it causes me to think they are working hard and being effective at creating chances, but they are having a hard time finishing. If these were Vets like we had seasons ago with the original 3 Larry's I say it would be a good shut down line, but it isn't going to score either.
In the case of this line, Cozens may never be the sniper/finisher but he is all over the ice and has very good controlled entries aand likely be more of a dirty goal guy (important btw)
Quinn is still adjusting, and will figure it out ... Wed's breakthrough with 2 G's might just help in giving him the needed confidence to keep developing and shooting. He could be the sniper/finisher.
Peterka is more like Cozens, but Zi hope has higher ceiling for goal scoring. He will ge another possession annimal. |

I think these analytics guys spend too much time locked up in a room throwing numbers around when they should be watching some hockey games. How much do the best GMs rely on this? I would say the older GMs like Lou just shrug this off. |

I was going to add Joker, decided not to since he's a regular. Pilut would have been interesting to add. He looks more like Bear with exception of actual Goals vs Expected. |

All have limited minutes, for one reason or another. I worry that they like Joker, Bryson, and Fitz way too much.
