jags, bears, lions, and raiders thank you for leaving them off the short list - homiedclown
I'm sticking with Washington. They traded real assets for Carson Wentz for Christ's sake. That and on top of it a real sh¡tbird for an owner is what puts them over the top.

How many since Snyder?
It's the current worst franchise.
The Chargers and Browns also belong in the conversation. - Wetbandit1
Honestly, though, those teams aren't in leagues where half their teams make the post season. Up until the Seattle expansion, the Sabres played in a league where more than 50% make it. That puts them up there.

Jeremy said the team has looked fine. IM convinced that they are apathetic and not watching. - ImThatGuy
I can't speak for Jeremy White, but I can admit to not watching more games than I have so far this year. I felt this team could amount to at least something watchable after the end of last season. Then they made the Ben Bishop move before free agency, and signaled they weren't really interested in doing that. We're watching the real-life hockey version of Major League.
Imagine that, and nobody even mentions Seamus Casey who is killing it at Michigan. Still sitting there at 41 to. - Buff36

The Devils are loaded, both now and in the future.
They didn't hesitate to go after Dougie Hamilton because it may not have met their timeline.
They traded for John Marino this past offseason for a forward prospect who had fallen down the ranks for the Devils and a 3rd round pick, and Marino is playing great so far this season.
The Sabres have been wandering the RHD desert.
Think Marino would've been quite a help to the team, especially with injuries? If he moved Jokiharju to the 3rd pair, even better.
From a Sabres perspective, are the Devils going to sign Damon Severson after this season? If not, he may be a good Sabres target.
Maybe we should throw some Charmin on the Ice. Maybe the 2ply stuff. Or beach balls maybe sun tan lotion. Tell the Sabres there soft and playing them is a day at the Beach all in one.

Noticed him more when I went back and looked a bit more. Pick 41 could come back to haunt the Sabres, there were a few available there.

The analytics group focus far too little on actual results, i.e. winning games.
They also are too quick to toss aside terrible results like the Arizona loss, filing them under the those games happen column. - kingcong39
I could appreciate that if they weren't on an 8 game losing streak. If they had even only won 3 of their last 8, with an OTL sprinkled in there somewhere, I could still give it at least some credence. However, when you lose this many games in a row, it's not the exception, it's the rule.

When the so-called intelligent part of the fan base hinges their opinion of an 8 game losing streak on some of the games should've made it to OT, you know they are fans of a truly pathetic franchise.
This analytical department really doesn't have much to do with 3/4 of the team. Hard to tell someone to go find me a analytical star, but I only want to spend 1.5M on them.
