it "needs" to happen, so if the habs don't get Bedard they're completely doomed..?
- Pat1993

No but if you aren't contending you do everything you can to give yourself the best chance possible at a player like that.

Life of Brian, yeah.

I have to admit I was laughing at it even without getting the reference. 😒

Mighty Pythons are funny though. The philosophical soccer sketch makes me fall on the ground every time.

They need another top pick next season, not chasing the playoffs at this point.

It won't be on purpose at this point with so many vets gone now.

they better hire someone to pull a Nancy Karrigan on Price if he's ever good to go and actually plays well...

Their goalies are old man broken Allen, Montsievebault and a potentially one hipped 10 game Price. I think they'll be fine competing for last outside of something insane (Primeau fulfilling his destiny).

God I wish Weber had just retired. We NEED a mega cap-recapture penalty somewhere.

yeah, he needs AHL time, I hope he gets to actually stay there and not be constantly called up again all year.

Canucks got Lu's. It wasn't as fun, but it was pretty nasty.

looks done to me

Even with Price, this is not a playoffs team

They did not need to trade Toffoli or Lehkonen and yet they did. Rebuild.

oh I know they're not a playoff team, and I doubt Price does play, but if he does, even at 75% he could hurt your chances at a top pick.

I'm getting Wright is Hishier and Slav is Svechnikov vibes from this draft. They better be tanking for a sure thing next year. Islanders 2023 1st for Anderson please.

meh, I don't mind if they trade Anderson, but tanking or not I do mind if the habs become even weaker physically. but hey, if people enjoy seeing their team literally getting their asses kicked then have at it I guess.

I think Wright has potential to be better than Hischier.

Hischier also doesn't really fit the bill as he was not hyped. He was the latecomer. Svech was the perceived number 1 that draft due to being on pace with Matthews and Eichel in the USHL in his 16 year old season.

But overall performance could be similar, you never know.

must be Montreal's Czech community whining again that there aren't enough Czech players on the habs.

they're not tanking on purpose, they're building for the future.
traded Toffoli and Lekhonen, soon Petry and Anderson, then Drouin, Dadonov, Byron...
if you don't try as hard as you can to get Bedard, you're not in the right business.

thats cute

Pat is a trained seal waiting for Molson to throw fish at him so he'll clap. One day his depression will overcome him and he'll stop eating fish and clapping. Then the people from. SeaWorld will come euthanize him. Forget Pat, he is already dead.

The Islanders are a team that thinks they are a couple of moves away from making the playoffs because they have elite player, but will end up with a top 10 pick. Anyone who has followed the Habs the last 30 years knows this story very well.
