I think these scouts are messing with Bob.

Also, I heard one TSN 690 anchor call Slafkovsky a "scoring machine" this morning.

I mean come on. Yeah, he's a big guy that can skate, and I know that the scouting job goes beyond looking at stats...but again, his Liiga numbers are ewww.

PLD could force MTL to miss out on Bedard, they should stick to the plan.

As far as PLD goes , out of experience, he's not consistent for the amount his agent is asking.

Don't think the Habs will acquire him anyway.

I guess he’s still young and playing against men in la Liga so he could become a scoring machine eventually but it’s too early to tell…Draft is a gamble and i see Wright as the safe bet that matches an organizational need at center and he’s not a reach like KK was at 3.

I like Dubois, but he seems to be difficult to manage...and his salary is already high

And please, do not talk to me about Pierre-Luc Dubois, you wouldn’t mention him if he was called Joe Smith…

I think if "Joe Smith" was a big, talented and physical centre that seemed inclined to play in Montreal when he becomes a UFA, we'd still talk about it.

Still wouldn't trade for him though. Not now.

Bang on.

The whole "Well it's hard to score in Liga" thing is bullpoop.

He didn't have a great season in Finland and it's only his international play that has him in the conversation.

(frank)ing pick Wright, who will be much better than the whole "projected as a 2nd line centre" crap we hear these days.

...but even if you look at his numbers when he was younger, he wasn't really an elite goal scorer.

I saw some hightlights, and honestly I don't get the hype.

I’ve seen others make this mistake on Bobs list. He surveys 10 scouts. And gives a score to each pick to come up with “consensus”. 5 of the ten had Slaf in first. 4 had Wright first. One had Cooley in first.

He's 6"4 and not slow. Mind you, he's not that fast either.

Oh and he scored against washed up olympic teams and bad teams at the world championship.

Who knows how he'll turn out but I'd rather put my chips on the guy that's been #1 since he was 15 and still managed a very good season despite missing a whole year of development.

Yeah it was a bit weird reading that. It's not like Dubois is Cedric Paquette or something like that.

But I don't think it makes sense to give assets for him at this point.

Agreed. But I like that everybody when talking about Slaf and his mediocre liiga numbers carefully gorgets that he was great in their playoff run where he was on their 2nd line instead of the 4th and that his U20 numbers are up there with some of the best draft eligible Finns
