oh, I thought there were ways to play with the cap hit with signing bonuses or whatever, but yeah you're right, it seems to simply be the total amount of cash ÷ number of years.

Nathan Staios wins defenseman of the year for the chl awards ( plays for the Hamilton Bulldogs).... and when looking him up, realized was never drafted in the NHL, or not that I could find. Small 21 year old player, but you'd think some team would sign him and give him a shot. 66 points in 59 games played.
