To me its more about opening up his roster spot for another young player to get those minutes and PP time. Maybe that's Foerster, or Brink. Its an investment to the Flyers future.
- jd250

Doubt either of those two will be on the opening day roster, even if JVR is traded.

Well what is the possibility they give it to a "young" guy or he goes and signs a Flyers hockey type vet?

Brink imo will 100% start in the minors. He doesn't have to clear waivers.

I'm not a JVR fan. He's a streaky scorer, but very lazy on the ice unless he's on the PP and standing in front of the net. We can't just trade him and his 20+ goals a year and not get some scoring back to make up the difference.

I hope the Stanley Cup goes 7 games, but it drives me crazy to see Makar on the ice. It reminds me that Philly passed on him for Nolan Patrick......

Moving JVR opens up space on the roster and the cap. Say you eat 3 million in a move, if you don't take back salary then you save 4 million. Maybe you don't use it now but maybe at the deadline.

Also I doubt he is the only move so you take his savings plus whatever else you open up. I still think you could see one of Laughton or Lindblom moved and i don't think Konency being moved is far fetched in a good hockey trade.

As long as they move him and retain without giving up assets i don’t see the issue. We know what JVR is, we have a log jam of bottom 9 players, let’s give an opportunity to someone in house.

I wanted to hear your opinion of what to do with the Cap space you opened up. In the past you have defended Laughton on this forum as a key piece to a winning team. I agreed with your opinion on Laughton. Now you are willing to let him go to free up cap space, so I wanted to understand what you were going to do with that cap space. That's all.
- jd250

Are the Flyers a winning team? Now or anytime soon. There is a difference between discussing the quality of player that Laughton is versus discussing how the Flyers should approach the future.

There's zero chance that they bend over backwards to move JVR and then sit on the cap space. Chuck is itching to add another bad contract. He can't help himself.

As sure as the sun will rise. I can see it now. How some of the fanbase will phrase it. Well he took a chance. He's played 12 years but he can get better with a new coach.

So the organization is not the worst run in the league but yet you still have no hope? I am willing to wait and see what happens this off season before I determine what hope I have in the future.
- jd250

If you want to say that we’re one of the worst for developing young players, I can see that. As for one of the worst ran organization, why would I buy into this? Terribly ran franchises either have no fan base or no success. The Flyers have both.

Thing is, it's just piss poor management...His expected recovery is 3-4 months if everything goes well. That's into October...that's no summer training, no training camp etc. They did the exact same thing with Hayes last year and learned nothing from how off the rails that went.

Stop chuck overhauled the organization. Must be a valid reason they waited 2 plus months for this.

While our medical staff has proven it can’t be trusted, it’s very possible Farabee sustained this training over the summer. I’m sure we’ll find out.

Holy crap, that is the same type of surgery Eichel had. I'm glad he didn't do the fusion surgery.

I sure hope he wasn't playing with this issue......

They seriously need to get rid of this medical staff!! They seem like a bunch of bumbling turds that can't get out of their own way. I mean, look at the Bruins as an example. When their season ended the surgeries commenced almost immediately after they were done for the season. The Flyers season ended at the end of April, so why the hell is this guy getting surgery 2 months later?? There needs to be an investigation at once!!

Hayes had surgery in early June which had a 5 week recovery time.

I am going to hold off on the gnashing of teeth and rending of garments until they tell us when the injury occurred.

But yeah, if it happened during the season, why for one, did he play...and two, why wasn't it done sooner.

You could probably look it up yourself. But how about, in deference to clarity, you explain to us what the lawsuit is actually about? Being a lawman and all.
