Fair enough on Spezza, but Phaneuf still has his house here in Ottawa too, don't forget. Regardless, over the last 5 years, all the different coaches, scouts, hockey ops people that have come and gone, the one common denominator is PD! Enough said.

It has been a staggerring amount of turnover.

At least there has not been a uber expose in awhile. Or social media harrasement. It all kind of and could lead back to the leader in terms of what exactly is PD culture this is

But I'm sure many Sens fans in here could offer up a package. Curious to hear Sens fans thoughts.

Zaitsev and Murray straight up as long as the Hawks don't give him a new contract first.

The Sens already have their top guys. They need their Cirellis and Pauls and Browns and the only thing that they can think of is how fast can we get rid of all these guys and bring in a real "STAR". It's like when I was a little kid and everyone wanted to be Boom Boom Geoffrion or Bobby Hull because all little kids see are the goals.

Turnover in any organization or business for that matter shows instability and that's what has doomed this team. Culture is everything....lets see what this next month brings us!

I'll be honest, Ottawa won't touch AD due to not having enough player control and they won't pay anyone more than Brady or Chabot, long term. A few on here have mused about Seth Jones more than AD.
- Kevin Francis

Ok just curious I like where the Ottawa is going. Ok then here another question then what would a trade for Seth Jones look like between the two teams?

Very much true. Too much of it is a tell tale sign. In private small/med business when that happens the business is usually on life support at that time. Indeed lets see what unfolds,
As always enjoy the reads you provide.

There was a poster in here who proposed something in my last blog. I cant recall what he said, but any deal starts with the number 7 pick, then a prospect, like Ridley Greig, then a roster player that has team control....like Alex Formenton. Not sure what else it would take to get Jones here. Maybe retain some of his salary or take a guy like Zaitsev or Murray off our hands too as part of the trade.

Does this work?

To Ottawa: Konecny
To Philadelphia: 2022 2nd round pick(Ottawa's), Jacob Bernard-Docker, Ridley Greig

You get a top 6 forward to maybe play on the wing with Stutzle if he stays at center.

Flyers get a 2nd rounder and two younger players to build with.

I believe Steutzle is a real star and that he is going to take off next season. I also think the Sens and teammates will be happy to see him get a shade more than Brady when he signs his new contract next summer.

I would like to see the Sens sign one more power player, like Dubois, who can play on the first or second line. Long term I really like Brady with Steutzle.

I know for a fact any deal involving a top 6 forward will be for the number 7 pick. Dorion has told GM's, if that isn't part of the package, don't bother, FWIW. This team wouldn't give up Greig, the idea of giving up the number 7 pick is you would be getting a high end skilled forward with that pick. JBD I believe could moved this summer for the right package.

As per Frank Seravelli -

You can take Reilly Smith off the Top 50 UFAs board.

Sources say Smith and the Vegas
@GoldenKnights
have reached a verbal agreement to keep the winger with VGK on a contract extension.

May not be immediately announced for offseason/tagging cap considerations.

This tells you now that Vegas needs to move someone! Theodore is in play.

Good to know that the Lebreton project is headed in the right direction.

My hopes for Dorion this summer is to sign both Norris (7-8 years) and Zub (4-6 years) and to do addition by subtraction - Zaitsev, Murray, Del Zotto, Brannstrom. I want to see Mann make the 7th overall pick. I'd like to see 1 of Thomson or Bernard Docker in the starting lineup.

Until there is a change in ownership, I don't hold out much hope for this team. The club needs it to provide financial resources and stability. Without it, I can see the rebuild falling apart, due to Tkachuk, Chabot, Stutzle and others wanting out. Sometime in the 2022/2023 season would be great!

Great post and so true, until the team is up for sale and new ownership steps in, this fanbase is going to be subject to stupidity due to guys like DJ and PD!

Exactly. To the poster above. And today's announcement, while a step in the right direction, did nothing to shore up financial viability.

And while I love some of the suggestions of players the Sens "could" make a move for - you gotta remember other teams are in the same boat. The Golden Knights don't want to move Theordore. He's a good young D man that they hope stays for years and years. They're not in a re-build. They don't need the 7th over all pick. And why is anyone going to take Zaitsev or Murray off our hands? Neither of them are Shea Weber....meaning they're actually bad contract of ROSTER players. They take up a spot. The Knights "might" want Karlsson gone, but he's got a full no move. Good luck getting him to go to Ottawa.

I'm with the poster who said lets just focus on signing who's here, and playing who's here. Use the pick. Take the best player available, not some mysterious 3rd round stretch that nobody knows about.

When or IF the team is sold. This GM and coach bozo tandem are gone. Until then we're stuck with their erratic goofy behavior, thin front office and dumb signings.

They are to sign the lease by October 2023 they said. So 15 months away from any sort of significant announcement, like you said, no financial stuff released today. This happened before when they won the bid years ago.....fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. This has to happen, the new arena!

It's a big question at to if or when it's sold, but this team is so badly in the red....I don't see them being ABLE to hold onto it more than a year from now. Many close to the team will tell you that.

As for Vegas, with Karlsson there's way too much term for any team to take on that contract. I guess buyout is the only way they can get around that......otherwise, they will have to lose a JM at forward or ST on defense. The numbers don't add up, plain and simple, so we can hope that Ottawa can snag ST. Plus it's only 3 years, if you try to sign Manson, you are looking at 4-5 years.

Thanks for the kind words too.

He's a guy I would like to see Dorion look at but I'm pretty sure the ask will be ridiculous.

with Dubois wanting to test UFA market in 2 years and with wheeler being 35 (38 when season starts in 2 years) Jets should be looking to rebuild IMO, Sheif is most likely gone in the next 2 years OTT should package 7th OA and go hard after Kyle Connor or Ehlers instead of barely middle 6 players like Konecny or old Dmen

Not when your team is in cap hell......that is the thing, he needs to bide his time and strike....Vegas will need to be cap compliant before camp, like Vegas wants that hanging over their head all summer especially after the Dadonov mess.

Connor or Ehlers would work for sure. What about Nate Schmidt in Winnipeg?

I haven't watched him much since he was traded from Vegas due to the Alex P signing. He played a year in Vancouver then was traded to Winnipeg. So I would wonder what Jets think of his play?
