Don't be surprised if Lou and Doug Armstrong finally pull of a trade for Tarasenko. $7.5M on year hit but actual salary for this year is $5.5M, where else are you going to get a 34 goal scorer and 82 point production? I could see Barzal or Martin along with Mayfield to the Blues! Lou will be able to get Tarasenko to sign a new contract since he wants NY area!

Barzal AND Mayfield for one guaranteed season of Tarasenko?

Pray tell good sir, where do the Isles go next for a 1C and top 4 RD, seeing as how they just traded them away?

Any interest in JVR at 50% retention? Short term 1 year deal. 24 goal scorer on a weak flyers team....

Yeah I kind of amended that thought. It wouldn't be the worst thing ever but ideally we'd just trade Bailey for picks and/or prospects and get the full relief from his $5M salary

edit: after some minor research, I'm now rescinding my entire comment.

Who wouldn’t want our playoff points leader? The guy is so cerebral.

He DOES step up in the playoffs. I’ll give him that.

Too bad he can’t play that way for a whole (frank)ing season.

No way Lou does this unless that's a 5th round pick in 2052

"the ideal option would be to try to move out the likes of Varlamov and Josh Bailey to create major cap space, "

At least Ben agrees with me.

Let's be realistic, the Isles would have to be on the losing end of a trade to move Bailey.

I don't entirely agree.

No, they're certainly not going to get any kind of valuable haul for Bailey, but he's not a useless player despite what many Isles fans want to believe.

I think the time has come to move on from him, but he has value to one of those young "bubble" kind of teams where he can go be a third line player and bring some value as a veteran with playoff experience. I could see a team like Ottawa being a really good fit for him.

I wonder what draft pick the Isles could get back for Bailey? Have to think a few teams can use his salary to get to the floor ad he is a veteran player with some use.
