The scenario is the Avs are in Cap trouble going forward and will need to make some hard decisions for this off season and next. If the Avs were to resign their RFA/UFA's from this season, they would be at $97m+. They'll make it work obviously, but will lose some talent along the way...like $15 worth.

Next season, they would need then to factor is resigning, MacKinnon, Byram, Compher, Newhook...what does that project to? $12m, $3m, $5.5m, $2m? ~$20m total, but an increase of $11m over existing contract values.


NATHAN MACKINNON, c'mon down!!! 7 x $13.5m.

(I suspect Sakic will resign Mac wellllllll before next offseason...so there it goes up in smoke.)

Good Read!! What looked to be a year where Rochester could be short on prospects. Adams and Co. have done a very good job killing that lull. Should be a nice steady stream coming through Rochester the next 5 or so years.

I feel it will be a Easier adjustment for them and we have a great group of players that will help them adjust to a family Culture to make them feel comfortable

This is a dumb idea moran how will we be able to extend Girgensons and okposo? Do you even watch the games? Plus, Mittlestadt will need to be extended and he is gonna need a big raise. Is Mack inn on will fall off a cliff due to age as they all do, and will stunt the growth of those guys in Cincinnati and down in Rochachacha.

Signing him out o this large of a contract and then everyone else will demand a big raise too and destroy what we have been building here. Group cohesion is most impotrtant. I expect his from RSH so due better.

Does the olo deal with one of Johnson/Portillo make sense.

Olo will need a deal and Gerbe has hinted they have similar players.

Again, I’d like to keep olo as a “good vibes” signing. Also realize we are a last place team, you need to give to get and good vibes probably aren’t winning the cup.
