I'm putting money on Rutger at 16. It's not my preference, but I (frank)in' bet it's theirs. My backup is Nazar.

I know we want to point to Tage Thompson as validation for this mindset, but trends and history seem to indicate that he's the exception and not the rule.

This is Brandon Beane mentality, the get versatile, smart players. Projection matters too, but to get a guy who can play multiple lines, multiple positions, that poop gets their pants tight.

And even with the Brandon Beane example, that applies for depth as well and has its limits. He didn't draft Kair Elam with the possibility of playing safety in the back of his mind, or Tremaine Edmunds to even play outside linebacker.

Yeah, I get it. It was more of a 'well, he can play both sides/wings' or, he can line up at center against weaker competition but he's generally a LW'.

All in all, they need centers with top 6 potential. Thankfully all of our C's are young but to grab a guy who can move into the top 6 in 2-3 years would give us a tradable asset currently here.

We don't need one at 41. Didn't say we didn't need one. No reason to waste 41 on a goalie who doesnt even look great in junior hockey. Especially when there will be some damn good players there still.
