somebody told me off the record that they watched film of him in games 4 and 5 and were infuriated with his play - jimbro83
I wasn't even that upset about sitting him for Hunt's energy game. But, the inevitability of Strome leaving the game and then reinstituting the regular lines is what made it questionable for me.
As for Kakko, I really like the kid's potential, but honestly he had half the production of his linemates, 5 points in 19 games. Not like he deserved the Hart or anything. |

I don’t have a problem with it. Maybe they saw something away from the puck that we couldn’t see on TV, addressed it and it continued happening. The only thing I will say is that line was buzzing all playoffs and he was probably the least noticeable of the 3 (Chytil Laf Kakko). |

If we go into next season losing : Rooney Copp Strome Vatrano Nemeth Georgiev Hunt Gauthier
But adding : Kravtsov Robertson Rydahl (one of Othmann or Cuylle) maybe B Smith as a 7th dman to replace Nemeth and a center, are we better off? |

Probably not. But, I feel strongly that we will still have at least one of Copp and Vatrano. |

I am 99% sure if Drury let’s both Strome and Copp walk it’s because he has something in place to upgrade the center position |

I dont know why people think Hunt wont be here
it's obvious Gallant likes him and he's signed for only 762k why wouldnt he be here

really no idea how he didn't earn a spot over (frank)ing gauthier last year. considering his contract and our cap situation, i think he sticks |

Also a big reason he was sent to the minors was because the rangers didn’t want to lose Libor Hajek to waivers lol |

We all saw him play. His talent and IQ are undeniable. Had to have been his commitment to defense, I'd guess. |

The funny thing is we were all raving about his defensive awareness in that stint he played with the team in 2020-2021.

I agree! But, his skating certainly didn't seem to hold him back, so I have no idea what else it could be that warranted sending him to Hartford. |

Probably the same thing that got Hunt into the lineup over KK. Brings more "energy" to the bottom 6.

Especially with pelvis surgery looming. Is any team going nuts to get him? It’s probably a tough break for him literally right before UFA
My prediction is the Hawks sign him so he plays with his brother - Slimtj100

maybe they should go after a guy like Palat instead of more former Rangers

If I remember correctly they were unhappy with his effort. Didnt get his heart rate up high enough to show he was working hard- sort of a slacker. |

Maybe we should stick it to Carolina like they do to us and sign Trocheck. He’s kind of gotten pretty good money already and it’s not like he’s gonna get 7 a year. Maybe he’s just looking to win and we just beat his ass Somewhere in the 4.5 - 5 range for him? Thoughts? He’d be our best faceoff man lol and he’s at worst 3C, behind Chytil now. Maybe Copp is the same? Trocheck can probably do a little more on the ice imo. Both very good players tho
Anyway, just an idea I figured I’d get yelled at for |

Kakko is a risk to trade right now imo. He’s not getting offer sheeted enough where we couldn’t match. I would offer 2 x 2.5 bridge. He hasn’t really had a full normal season yet, this year he was hurt and the pandemic seasons. To trade him how isn’t smart because you’re not getting value for him. Wait it out…he gets two full seasons to finally breakthrough. You can see what’s in there and it could be dynamite. He just has to put it together and hasn’t truly gotten every opportunity to do that yet. Keep with the same linemates and let them go. Whether Chytil Laf whoever, just let them build chemistry. Hate to trade him for less than what he’s worth and see him blossom elsewhere. At least in those two years we should finally know what he is.
I really just want one trade and that’s Nils for some kind of a center. Sweeten it what you have to. Nick Roy is someone I like what I’m reading. He’s 25 and an RFA. He’s not terrible on faceoffs and he had a pretty good year. (He had a very good playoffs too, in ‘21. Vegas probably can’t pay him even 2 mill, so they would save a few bucks with Nils ELC. Roy would get 3 mill from us? Idk what kind of raise he would get, but he’s got decent numbers. Same could be said for Stephenson, so either or. Vegas could be a good match, with Willy K also. |

Debrincat is available with 1 year left on his contract. Would look real nice sniping off breads passes. Get them to retain 50% and still have room for a center |

I’d be ok with this
Kreider Zib Vatrano (we know it works)
Laf Chytil Kakko (we want this so bad)
Panarin Roy Kravtsov (gives Bread some size on his line)
Motte Goodrow Blais (best 4th line in the NHL)
*extras- Rydahl, Hunt, Reaves
Any one of those top 3 lines could lead in ice time on a given night.
Lindgren - Fox
Miller - Trouba
Jones - Schneider
*extras- Robertson, Brendan Smith
I’d be ok with Braun coming back as the 7th, but Smith should still be a Ranger imo. Would like him back. Rotate the two kids with Schneider. If we need size dress Robertson, we need more speed dress Jones
Shesty
Back up is tricky. I’m not sure how much to spend here but I was thinking Greiss. He’s familiar with New York (remember a former Islander was the backup in ‘94 )and can probably handle 30 games
*Georgy see ya, you’re my least favorite Ranger of all time lol
Remember those commercials, where’s the beef? I’ve finally found it |
