Rangers could also just send Nemeth to Hartford and save 925K of the 2.5 mil cap hit
I guess that would be an option
I just dont think anybody gonna bite on it |

We could do a mix of those options.
Send him to Hartford this year, and buy him out next year, then the cap hit is
166K
1.166M |

I agree, but the one problem with that is that this coming season is our worst year with the cap and we need every dollar we can get, but, it's possible they will do that
getting a team to acquire him and take the whole damn contract is obviously best scenario

NHL Draft is going to be held in Montreal this year. For them to trade the 1st overall pick, the price is going to be painfully high. LaFreniere is the only player I can think of that would satisfy the Habs fans into giving up Shane Wright... |

Yep. The world just watched Laf prove he is going to be a player in this league for years. Wright is an unproven commodity. You don't add when you are already offering the bigger piece. |

Once again, why would the Jets want to trade their back up if he was good?? - Brukie
Why then did the Jets "want to," or actually felt the need at last season's trade deadline to trade Copp?
Like Andrew Copp potentially back then and still today, Eric Comrie will also be a free agent within a few weeks if not re-signed; though an RFA in contrast to Copp simultaneously becoming a UFA should Drury not re-sign him.
Now age 26, Comrie may want to test the market to see if someone will offer him a short term deal based on his 2.58 GAA & .920 Save% in 19 Jets' games played last season. In addition, the Jets may want to look ahead & see if one of their younger minor leaguers is ready to become their backup for next season behind Hellebuyck; who has just 2 years remaining on his contract, prior to being UFA eligible after the 2023/24 season. They may also want to see in advance if one in their system has the potential to be a #1 starter to eventually replace Helleybuyck; should either he decide to move on elsewhere then, or his goaltending deteriorates somewhat, and not be worth what he may demand on a new deal. |
