Best wishes Jeremy, stay strong.

Also, thanks for sharing, far to many people don't or won't talk about mental health.

Crazy game against Toronto tonight.. too bad they couldn't pull it off. Oh well... Raymond stays on top of the NHL rookie points race with 2 goals and an assist tonight. Liked seeing Rasmussen planted in front of the net and getting a nice redirect goal. He needs to keep doing that.

I've never been. But I knew one. Total phony. Laughed about how pathetic his patients were. The more pathetic, the more money he raked in.
- HockeyBuzzed

That’s the sad part. You’ve never been, yet you bash 99% of them.
I have a step daughter who went through hell. Although i “fix” monetary situations and issues for a living, I could not help her. Incredibly frustrating and humbling. We went through 5 therapists til we found the right one. It’s not an exact science. However, after much trial and error, we hit the right combination of therapist and meds to get her well. I’m happy to say she’s doing well, a decade later.

I never knew the struggles people have faced til I walked the road with my stepdaughter. Admitting you’re struggling, and asking for help is the first step.

I wish this blogger well on his journey to mental wellness.

God speed....

99% of therapists are a scam. Paying someone to be a friend. Try volunteering and go outside for an hour per day. Bye.
- HockeyBuzzed

For the record:

Someone close to me has suffered from a severe anxiety disorder. And things like going outside, volunteering, breaking up her normal routine, practicing yoga and meditation techniques, talking with friends about what she was going through etc. truly did help her a lot. Those are not necessarily bad suggestions!

But unfortunately in her case they were not enough, and therapy was also an important part of getting her well again.

You don't know what someone else is going through. What is fundamentally causing the problem. What techniques are going to be most helpful for them. Some people can overcome on their own, over time. Others need a guide. Others need medications.

Not all therapists are good at what they do and not all problems can be solved by therapy, or by a specific therapist. There's not a simple answer that works for everyone. And I won't deny that the field is a lot more susceptible to infiltration by bad actors and pseudoscience than, say, anesthesiology.

But also, one or two bad experiences is not a strong reason to disregard an entire field of practice that has been broadly accepted by the medical and scientific community and clearly has helped millions of people.

And even if you still disagree and think the entire discipline is full of useless grifters, which is an opinion you're very much entitled to, choosing this moment to share that opinion in an arrogant and dismissive way, while another human being is genuinely suffering, is in pretty poor taste.

Try putting yourself in someone else's shoes and think about whether your words are going to be helpful or harmful to them. Some things are more important than Being Right on The Internet.

Petteri Lindbohm on waivers today from the Panthers. Big LD, 6-3, 198lb, 28yo.The 28-year-old defenseman must have signed a contract with the Panthers after his KHL season came to an end with Jokerit pulling out of the postseason this weekend. The former St. Louis Blues player hasn’t seen NHL action since 2016-17, and has spent the last four seasons playing overseas. A big, mobile defenseman, Lindbohm just won gold at the Olympics with Finland and has been a strong contributor at both the Swiss and KHL levels over the last few years. He has just 40 games of NHL experience.
Take a flyer on this guy Stevie!!!!

So how good is this kid? Numbers seem interesting. Like his size!

Has anyone heard about what's going to happen to the kids from Jokerit & RIga? Saw that those teams suspended play on the KHL (or completely withdrew), but didn't see too much on the impact to the players (didn't read too much of the article, so my bad!). Could be a good way yo snag some prospects....Saw that our number of draft choices in '23 are kinda low, and from what I saw '23 looks to be another deep draft year.....could be a good way to add to the prospect pool!

Have you noticed how we've migrated from shortage to shortage on D? Seems really hard to maintain a couple of strength-guys at each position over a period of time. A while back (several years ago, maybe?) we were short on RD, now it's LD? It's interesting to see how that flows. I've not checked on what the pool looks like for LD, but believe it could be an interesting TDL & UFA (believe I mistakenly posted that we were hurting on the RD, when it's the LD....do I remember that correctly?) for sure.

There are many holes to fill to make us more competitive, but having kids contending for ROY like Raymond & Mo Sides sure does help in generating not only fan interest, but other player's interest as well I'd think. Read an article on how the Wings will have ~$55m in cap space at the end of the year, which is some pretty savvy work done over the past couple of years. Regardless of the record this year, the amount of growth in the player pool and progression of the kids (and the team overall) has really been impressive. Good things in the future, indeed.
