who knows how long he is there for, once they hire their director of amateur scouting, he might be around.

Roomer is they might hire this summer, after the draft...Daniel Doré from the NYR

Renaud Lavoie was saying he was sure Lapointe is staying, so perhaps you're right.

Everything that could go right for MTL did last night and the exact opposite for Dallas, the score clearly does not reflect how the game went.

well the puck wasn't going Dallas' way, and Montembeault is a major reason they won, but the habs had more jump than usual and responded physically, so there's that at least

He might, I don't know. Until they hire the person responsible for the scouting department, who knows who will stick around and who will be hired.

Based on what I have read, they might only fill those positions this summer since the candidates they might want are currently with teams and nobody is letting them go before the draft. Teams have already produced their mid year draft list in January I read, that info is too important for teams. Lapointe is doing that work for MTL for the upcoming draft at the moment.

I haven't watched many games this year (did last night with the late start), they were chasing the puck most of the night, Dallas had close to 100 shots attempt on net....that's crazy. Most teams won't miss that many chances. Take the 2pts and run...

NFL teams tend to kick the scouts out a week before the draft but not allow them to go elsewhere until after the draft. I imagine NHL teams do the same

yeah, at this point I think it's more about salvaging whatever little is left of their pride as hockey players than the 2 pts lol

Yes.

but also because you guys won a game AND hired a guy named Kent Hughes and not Monsieur Gerard Chienbaiseur to be GM so that's neat.

this year's team is such an unlikeable bunch who basically quit on the season 10 games in but i love seeing guys like SM and Pezzetta get rewarded. they bring it every (frank)ing night, knowing this might be their one and only shot.

now I think I know why Carey Price's dogs were so traumatized when he found them after losing them during the playoffs a few years back...

That could be said for all of the AHL call-ups this season. Showing WAY more heart than the supposed "leaders" on this team. Every game is a pathetic display of quittery.
