Bill, I respectfully disagree with your assessment that Hart had no chance on Pasta’s goals. On his third goal, you can see Hart go down into butterfly and his glove hand stays down at his pad. The shot was a cannon but if Hart keeps his glove in position I think he snags it. That said, he got little support in the first period especially. Good job by MacEwen to show some emotion and surprise.....the boys came to life a little bit!!!

I have seen enough of Frost now to say with confidence that this kid doesn't have it and never will at the NHL level. Another game where he is pretty much invisible.
- jd250

Individually, he shows speed, soft hands and an ability to find open spots. He would have a lot of assists if some of our players could generate pro-level shots on his feeds. Sounds like the perfect prospect for us to dump so we can get another MacEwen, Willman, or Brown in the lineup and then watch him go to a team that takes advantage of his qualities.

WTH was MacEwen doing on the ice at the end of the game? Not a scorer, not good hands. Yeo is a bit of a dunce.

19 games in a row for Konecny without a goal. This after he didn't score a goal in the 2020 playoffs.

Looks like another sunk cost contract because he's terrible.

- PLindbergh31

We'll unload him because of assessments like this and watch him go somewhere and take off. He is one of our few forwards who can skate with the puck and generate opportunities. Would like to see Frost back with him so that we can get some high chance shots.

Willman was playing hot potatoe with the puck, can’t believe this kid is playing in the NHL

He is part of a long list. It is amazing what we are putting on the ice.

When does he have to start producing? He's 24 now and they gave him a pretty significant contract. Sorry you can't go 20 games without scoring a goal. It's ridiculous at this point.

Honestly, it’s like he’s completely disengaged. I was an all star in 2020? Do all these players want to get traded?

I agree. I know they gave up on av and maybe they are doing the same for yeo?

The third goal was a cannon off a scramble. He had no chance. His only play there, especially in view of the fact that it was a 5 on 3 was to get back into his net to his goa line and make himself big. Also, not sure he even saw the release. First goal, he could have been out a bit further and second no chance as well.

He isn't producing here. If he is traded what happens after is what it is really.

This is why they need to be shown the door if any semblance of truth. These guys like TK seem to accept losing. They are all so complacent it is sickening.

Ended up getting back to the game in the second period. My takeaways? Willman had one of the worst shifts of all time at a critical time of the game. He misses a tape to tape pass while short handed and then on the same sequence takes a god awful penalty to put his team down two players. Send him out!

I thought York looked good for the most part and he should stay regardless of who comes back. I was disappointed in his play in the offensive zone however. He had 3 or 4 chances to make something happen in the offensive zone and did nothing. Frost continues to be unimpressive to me and if Konecny doesn't score in the next game that will make it 20 straight games without a marker. Trade him while he still has value!! Hart played his arse off and deserved better. Thanks!

Oh, one more thing while I'm at it. That ESPN announcing crew last night was horrific!!
I don't know who the lead guy was, but he kept getting confused as to which player had the puck. Kept correcting himself all night. A.J Melosko(however you spell it) should have been down at ice level and Boooooooosh should have been the color guy. Thanks again!

- Phillywhiteout

Willman needs to be sent down for that. The penalty cost us the game.

Hart and York are the only positives I have there.

This is what the HB amatuer GM's don't see that declare Frost will never be anything in the NHL after 39 games.
Even worse, here is what the Flyers continue to do with young players and why they completely suck at developing players. They put a player in the lineup and let him play for a little bit and then when they see a player struggle in an area of a game, they sit him down, show him video. Maybe scratch him or demote him in the lineup. Works really good! Instead of what they should be doing, which is instead of having tunnel vision on trying to win in what is obviously a lost season. Let's invest in a young player and put a skilled young player with some of the skilled players on the team. Last night in the game at 5 on 5, Frost played with Atkinson for 12 seconds. Played with JVR for 33 seconds. Farabee 31 seconds. Konecny 9 seconds. Giroux zero! So you have a player that is struggling in some areas and instead of giving him more support in a better situation to help him get going. They play him in a situation that is not conducive to his development. The Flyers do this constantly. They are bonehead idiots when it comes to developing young players. They are specialists at ruining young players.

Agreed! Tough crowd!! Hart had no chance on that third goal! It was a blast from between the circles during a scramble and Hart was screened as well. Ken Dryden probably would have whiffed on that one, but whatever.

But why have m they all regressed? Is it coaching or do they want out of a dysfunctional org? Maybe they’re used to losing now. I don’t have an answer here.

Who do you think are the Flyers best offensive players? Who is the best goal scorer on the team?
- MJL

First, I don't think any of the Flyers players are top offensive players in this league. That is why they don't convert break-aways or 5 on 3s. However, on this team right now, I would say Cam, G and Bee are their best offensive players.

Yeah. I know it’s just my opinion but the focus right now shouldn’t be on the performance of the tenders. They've done what they can though this mess.

How much ice time at 5 on 5 did Frost play with them?

The only thing that’s comforting right now is how bad this team is falling on its face. It may force them into making big changes and certainly they’ve cemented themselves As sellers

Williams, Carter, Richards, Sharp, Maroon, Mellanby ... to name just a few. Is this list familiar? What happens after is not "what it is", it shows that we get important talent decisions wrong a lot. What I am saying is that the management that signs Willman, Seeler, MacEwen, Brown, damaged goods like Ellis, ships out Ghost, screws up NAK and puts Lappy in charge of developing talent should not be making decisions and evaluating our talent. Any trading outcomes with them in charge would be stupid.

Good point. I realize there was a mad scramble in front but I think what I’m trying to say is if Hart kept his technique he would have had a good chance at making that save. As you know, he has a tendency to drop that glove hand too soon. But it was a rocket of a shot! Good stuff man!
